Parisian Carousel - WoodTrick 3D mechanical model with Instructions

My favourite childhood memories involve trips to amusement parks. The chance to ride the carousel was the main source of happiness. By putting together the carousel model that we have made with your family, you can relive the fun times you had as a youngster.
We were moved by this site's beauty and decided to build our own wooden carousel model, which we named Parisian Carousel.

Looks like everyone has the same cut on their thumb.
I used a 5 quid Aldi mini bench vice and the spring slipped straight in. 🎉

The spring design at step 9 is in need of redesign. 1.) Spring is cheap spring steel, if it were a higher quality, the spring would be thinner. Also 2.) how it is retained on one of the four outer pins is careless: double pin that one of the four to make the spring wind effortless.

As far as spring. I got one installed then cut the band an it seemed to work pretty well. Instead of cutting it right off the bat

Do you have a bandage on your thumb due to when you opened the wire? Because I stupidly cut the plastic off of it and when it sprung open it sliced me right up; so I too have a bandaid on while building this currently 😂

Use the winding piece that attaches to the bottom. It saves your fingers. Lol

Okay i just finished mine. Same one. Im having an issue. Everything moves if i move the arm of the music box. After winding it up. Seems like it needs assistance. Any idea what the issue could be. Thanks in advance
