    On this episode of Weekenderlander, we take the Land Cruiser on a mini overland trip (just camping really, relax), to let it spread its wings a little. This was the 80 Series Land Cruiser's first trip since putting on the new GFC (Go Fast Campers) tent. The FZJ80 performed great, though we didn't really do any wheeling. The GFC held up great, and we had a good time taking the 80 on its maiden voyage. Full Land Cruiser Walkaround coming soon.

    Should I ever think about adding narration like everyone else does, or nah?

    • @Bsmiley7988
      @Bsmiley7988 Před 4 lety +7

      Some narration could be good when showing things that could use some more info....
      I haven't watched many of your vids yet. Found you thru John the PoetWarrior. I see your ankle has healed... that was rough.
      I can't wait to see more about your Land Cruiser. I'm hoping to pick up some tips and ideas for overlanding camping adventures.

      @amioverlandingyet_4058 Před 4 lety +6

      Please no. Look at venture4wd no music no narration and the most epic stuff on CZcams. His vids make you feel like you’re there. If you change make a change in his direction. That’s my two cents anyway 😬

      Narration during broll? I think it's fine to let the pictures speak for themselves. You nail the vids so they speak volumes. Let the videography speak for itself.

    For shots of vehicles travelling off-road, music is great. I don't like it when it is a background to a conversation or narrative.

      100% agree. I find it highly annoying to have music on when people are talking. You are then chasing the volume. You have to turn it up to understand the conversation and then it is too loud.

    Keep the music. It adds a lot to the feel of the video.
    Some things I'd find interesting in weekenderlander videos:
    - Packing. Tips, things you found you don't/do need based on past trips, etc.
    - Setting up camp. Picking out a spot, getting leveled, etc.
    - B-roll of scenery
    - Your take on the road to where you are and what type of vehicle you'd need for it. Things like AWD, high clearance, stock.
    - Vlogging around camp. Gotta get your girl to be less camera shy haha.

    Ahh, found the comment box. I like the music but also cool to change it up at times. Content: equipment, gear, including installs and specs. I really liked the water container that you tapped with a spigot. Maybe some b roll with how-to on that, where the container was sourced, and brand name. Detailed info is your specialty. Lastly the location, (not GPS necessarily) story behind it. Colorado is rich in history. Some of the landscape appeared to have been damaged by an avalanche or fire- went by quick. Nature, gear, history, music. Magical combination on the way to 1m subscribers :)

Goes great with the usual eggs and rice, but you could also make some grilled spam sliders (w/ a slice of pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, tomato slices and some leaf lettuce). I can eat spam, eggs & rice every morning for a whole week. My favorite breakfast combo.🤤🤣

    BTW That truck looks amazing!!! I'm only 5 min in but I miss the music and the mood it sets in your weekenderlander videos. You are good at it and you should keep it up! Thanks for what you do Mike.

    Great video! Like some others, I enjoy a bit of music with your B-rolls...but the content was still great! Looking forward to more adventures with the 80.

    I think I like music better than no music. Its more relaxing to me for some reason.

    I would love to hear more about the new Land Cruiser, especially as I just acquired one myself.

      X2! I just picked up a 100 series land cruiser but I do love the 80s. Please include the color of the paint and who did it because it looks great! Also want to know about the wheel and tire combo.

    I like the gear reviews with each trip and talking about all the new stuff you keep adding on. I think you should add a little bit of narration into your vids! I would also like to see some more content from you. Keep up the good work!

    For sure keep the music, but whatever you do, please keep the series alive. Seriously one of the best on the Tube...Peace

    I like the music, it allows you to throw in some cinematic shots to break up the pace of the video. Some people probably just don't like the type of music, but I think you choose it wisely and it works.

    Your overlanding videos are what got me hooked on your channel, there is no other channel like yours (believe me, I've looked). How you present your trips on CZcams is perfect, the chilled out music, light gear reviews and explanations, and aesthetic shots and angles are perfect! Please don't get rid of the music.
