    I've always been a morning person because my first job out of high school I had to work the graveyard shift. Since then I've always had jobs where I had to wake up early. However, that doesn't mean I get the amount of sleep I need to get so this year I'm going to work on getting a minimum of 6 hours of sleep.

    I find it so hard to wake-up early especially in Toronto. But when I was in Mexico I just woke up at 5 or 6am naturally. I'm honestly wayyy more productive when the weather is warm and sunny!

    Hey Celine! I'm kind of similar to you where I stay up late, but I always have a difficult time getting up (no matter what time it is). Congrats on staying committed to your sleep schedule. I like how Bean seemed confused about what was going on, like he was not use to you getting up that early 😂. Awesome video as always! 👍

    Happy New Year Celine! We probably already covered that but I don't mind saying it again. I have so much respect for sleep since I work overnight 4 nights a week. I don't sleep like a " normal" person. I used to take melatonin on work nights but I stopped because it was extremely hard waking up. Talk about groggy. Chewable melatonin is made for 8 hours of sleep. Nothing less. I can sleep naturally now.
    Getting a proper night sleep is a euphoria experienced that if they could be put in a pill everyone would be addicted. I do the sleep tracker on my watch and I get scored like I'm in friggin grade school 😂. I love when I get over 80. Anyway I hope you continue to get great sleep and conquer your goals. I'm proud of you for implementing a routine. I love that coat my buddy Bean had on. I'll catch you next time.

      happy new year!! 💞 I'll keep saying it until mid January hahaha oh yes, I can only imagine how valuable sleep is for overnight workers! I learned my lessons with using melatonin too. and yes the scores on the sleep tracking make it more fun to make sure I get good sleep 😂 catch you next time! ✨

    I used to be a morning person, before I lived with G I would wake up naturally at 7/7:30am naturally. But now its more 8am/8:15am.
    Also melatonin for me is great but I feel like it depends the quantity (some are stronger than others) and the brand!
    I have been using Sleep Cycle for 4 years I think. You can also turn it into plane mode after and it still works. In case some people dont want to have their phone on like me. I dont use the waking up part though, I just track my sleep.
    Its so hard to stick to a routine with life, I get into the same dilemma: I know I love my routine and it makes me feel so gooooood but I also want to be flexible! and I guess sticking to my routine allows me to not feel terrible when I'm not sticking to it. Yes Im thinking out loud here Lol.

    Hi Celine! Happy 2024! I would say I'm in between a night owl and early riser, I guess more of an early riser. I think one tip that I may have is maybe meditation or using the headspace or Calm app. Also, I think if you have an Apple Watch, there's a reflection app, that you can reflect on your day. 🙂

    I have tried this, it doesn't work for me. Too many clashing schedules where I live. I wake up late to avoid the drama. 🙂

    Hey Celine! Happy New Year, I love the Sleep Cycle app, been using for the last 6 months and its AMAZING especially if you just bite the bullet and do the yearly subscription since you get a ton of data about your sleep! I am definitely a morning person since I do pilates at 6am twice a week. Something that helps me is magnesium pills and drink sleepy tea. Excited for the new content!

    Yeah, sleep is one of those things we all think we know how to do... but we don't (like breathing, or walking). We have such bad habits, and habits are *hard* to break. Really only speaking for me, is I've learned that my sleep needs & patterns are unique to me. Motivation matters a lot - if I *need* to wake up early for something I really want to do, I will and will be fine. I try to keep my naps down to 20 minutes - or less. Yeah, they're not meant to "make up for lost sleep," they're just a pick-me-up, boost. Laziness is the mind talking, the body will follow. Some of us thrive on regularity; I don't. When experts say, "make sleep a routine," they're right... to a point. Remember, we invented clocks; nature didn't. I think it's best to learn to listen to your own body and create a habit pattern around its needs - not 6 a.m. "on the dot" - that fussiness helps no one but our ego, which naturally thrives on increasing control. Also, I match my sleep patterns with my needs (our bodies adapt wonderfully, if I'm motivated and give it time to adjust, accommodate). (It's our minds that are not adaptable, flexible, accommodating.) I like waking up at 4:30, 5, 6 but not if I have nothing to do during all those extra gifted hours. Conversely, sometimes I like to push it and work late. I'm a creative - some people advise, "the creative spirit likes a routine," and yet for others of us, creativity is all about being *ready* and then listening. Some of us get inspired (invigorated) by deadlines; some of us get so caught up in anxiety and nerves, it's counter-productive. There's a crucial difference between "a routine" and "a rhythm" - follow your body. As we all have probably learned, there's an opinion or research to substantiate practically any conclusion - the trick is picking one you *want* to follow (not thinking there's a "right" or "wrong" way). The body usually guides us best. Sorry for long-winded, I'm old style. Love what you're doing a whole lot. Keep up the great work, Celine.

      A very fascinating and food for thought comment with many great points. You are so right in that if one needs to wake up early e.g go somewhere exciting, of course one jumps out of bed. And you are on point that humans created clocks and one should listen to their internal circadian rhythm. I also feel that light pollution is a big causes of sleep issues.

    I’m just like you. I’m not a morning person and never have been. lol
    I strive to be productive in my day though which means I sleep late to get everything done. I definitely suffer from “revenge bedtime procrastination.” I didn’t know about this term before but now I know I’m not the only one. 😅
    I want to work on getting up earlier and being more of a morning person so I can maximize my early morning hours more efficiently.

    @Celinelikedion Hello Celine,🤗🌷 golly gosh I can relate to many aspects of this video and you motivated me, as always and really appreciate this video😊. When I working, I would be in bed early and get up so early to go the gym and that became a routine for me. I was a morning person.
    Now, this isn't the case as I am more of nightowl. I am a carer for my parents. So at times I have to get up at night and as there is so much to do, with unpredictable things happening. I have to leave many things such as some house chores, that I need to do late at night, despite being organised.
    I set my alarm for 6.15 am but I struggle so much to get out of bed🥱😴 and I hit that snooze button a few times. And one habit I need to reduce is scrolling, so you inspired me to reduce that👍. I also prepare things the night before so that I am not stressed out in the morning. I wish I could get up earlier so that I would have time to do more things and feel like I have accomplished things, so I am going to get onto that.👍
    I do get to sleep easily as I follow my routine of dimming the lights and shutting the curtains before sunset, skincare routine ( very important to me) and I read a little . I am so buggered. Yet, if have a dream, at times I find it hard to get back to sleep. Coffee doesn't keep me awake. I can see why napping does help, and siestas in Europe allow people to stay up later and not feel as zonked out.
    As for Tim Hortons, when I was in Canada, I couldn't get enough of any thing Tim Hortons💗. Your brekkie always looks yummy😛. Sometimes I wish I had a dog's🐶 life...Bean does so well with sleep.😁 Cheers, Lara🦘🐨

      hi Lara! 💞 thank you for sharing - adjusting our routines to life circumstances are certainly necessary. hitting snooze is still something I'm working on - but I try to remember it's okay and not every morning will be easy to get up 🙂 so happy to hear you found some motivation in the video, and it sounds like you have a great nighttime routine in place - preparation the night before is definitely key! Bean has the best sleep schedule out of all of us!! 😂
