Hi Andy, sorry missed that, Angel is 60ft long the price of your boat licence depends on the length and width, widebeams pay more too, there are some steep increases coming each year on licensing to take into account too. Remember these are fixed costs, there are loads of expenses as I mentioned, food, repairs, clothing, train fares, hire car, bike for shopping 🙈 blacking is anything between £600-£1000 every three years, wine and beer 🫣 as I said it’s about the same again for me….
Look there are constant blogs on this subject….. it’s not cheap ….. and trust me it will only ever become more expensive the government know what is going on just look at the traveler community by the mid 80’s all in managed sites paying council tax this is not of grid living by any standards and any one thinking they are living a low impact lifestyle is delusional
Fair point!, it is getting more expensive - when I ordered my boat, diesel was 70p now £1.20 average, Licence fees are going up 5% plus RPI annually for the next five years, it was also about 3.5k per year for fixed costs then, so mine are nearly 2k more in just 18 months, so your right it’s not cheap with everything else we have to pay for too, maintenance, marina fees if applicable, parts and repairs and it’s not an easy life, it’s a lifestyle choice 🤷🏻♂️ I’m a boater first and foremost, I love the water, cruising, wildlife, the community and living this way of life, and of course the alternative is far more expensive…👍🏼

Hi Victor, as a Continuous Cruiser there is no council tax for me 🤗🤗🤗 I have a dry/compost toilet 🚽
Way way way cheaper than a living in a house tho
Remember it can be a hard work, compared to living in a house with electric and water on tap 🤷🏻♂️
