Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

The man is a living legend! What he's accomplished in life is unmatched. To spend your entire life in a city setting surrounded by crowds of cidiots and to somehow to come out the other end humble and maintaining full manhood is truly extrordinary.

Love the country out there. I can remember being a young lad living in Comox (mid 70's) and wandering in to the woods looking for bigfoot. Caused quite a disturbance with cops being called and locals about to head out looking for me when I came out of the bush just as the sun was setting. Of course, at that age being bear bait never came to mind, lol. I still think I was passed over for season 1 of Alone because during the interview I was laughing about the amount of food available in that environment. Keep em coming Greg, if you come to Ontario I'll take out you on some Crown Land adventures.

I grew up in seaside town and I feared that ocean more than any bear or wolf. As an adult I did give myself every chance to change that but my fear was so great that I had the boat driver turn around not 10 ft from the wharf 😂 Now I'm a river/pond girl myself.

As a Michigander, it was thrilling to see the sea lions, seals, porpoises, and whales. Our largest water critters are probably lake sturgeons. Your water critters are incredibly beautiful; sturgeons, not so much, but I hear they are pretty good to eat. I love you and Joe as an adventure team and I truly enjoyed this one. Hated to see it end. Kiss Finn for me. I doubt he was bored but rather mad you left him. I had to laugh, and had you abandoned your butter around me, I would have taken it, too! Much love and be safe.
Hi Greg, you are doing well, so often people think you will be successful on every challenge but Mother Nature is showing her strength.
People must understand you will not always find food, get fire, have adequate shelter. That is the suck of survival. One advantage you have is your self reliance training.
We need more awesome people like Joe in the world ❤
Ironically I am heading up to BC this morning for my fishing trip but instead of sleeping I stayed up all night watching Greg’s video. Now I need a coffee and to hit the open road!

Hey Greg, glad to see you had a successful outing. I really enjoyed watching this. Glad Fin was fine by himself overnight but I figured he would be. Nice to see you enjoying time with old friends. I’m reuniting with some old army buddies in August. Haven’t seen one buddy since Afghanistan so really looking forward to it. Hopefully we have as much of a good time as you did. Take care Greg. Nice job on the the fish with the hunting knife. I heard you say watch the rock with the knife. Just a tip try holding the knife almost still cut a finger hole in the skin by the tail. Then in slow motion not to fast move the skin back and forth at the same time push the knife forward as you pull back on the skin in the back and forth motion works like a charm when filliting plus may save some damage to the blade. works great on salmon for filliting them take care love the channel Greg keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
