    The upper front nose faring and the windscreen retaining bracket can be removed as a complete unit. No need to dissemble these two parts. Just use a plastic pry tool and pry up the front nose out of the two grommets. Remove the two nuts under the left and right mirrors. Raise the front of the faring enough to remove the center bolt behind the plastic flap. You can then left and remove the assembly as one unit. PS: Place a rag in the hole under each of the mirrors so as not to lose a nut if you should drop one.

      @motodynamic  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the suggestion. The bolt under the flap is difficult to reach without removing the front nose fairing first. Unless you have specialized tools to reach in and know exactly the position of the bolt, it would be easier to remove them separately.

    Wouldn't it be cheaper to put LED lights in your original headlight assemblies 700 + is a little high

    • @motodynamic
      @motodynamic  Před rokem

      Yes, it would be cheaper but likely the LED is not designed for reflection type head lights on the Gold Wings and may not focus the output properly. It will also vary on the brand of LEDs too.

  • @workharddieproud
    @workharddieproud Před rokem +1

    Thats actually cheap when you consider the price of just a single OEM headlight housing by itself.

    As someone who's into car LED lighting bussines from very begining (since 2004.) and with 30+yrs of experience in electronics, I've got a question if I may?
    How did you solve or did you solve heating issues of a LED cluster inside a headlight assy? I see you're using standard generic ABS encapsulation for a LED headlights and there's no visible heatsinks or cooling fans. What is operating temperature for those headlights and how you handle warranty in case of failure caused by overheating issues?
    Thank you in advance for your honest answer.

    • @motodynamic
      @motodynamic  Před 11 měsíci +2

      We use a massive aluminum heatsink inside that the LED boards are attached directly to. The heatsinks have cooling fins that dissipate the heat adequately. I do not know the operating temps off the top of my head but we ran our burn in longevity test for 1 week straight and the temps were within the operating temps of the LEDs. We have had zero issues with overheating so far. In the case of warranty, we will replace the unit for you at no cost within the warranty period.

    What about bulb replacement

    • @motodynamic
      @motodynamic  Před rokem +2

      Bulbs are not used, the LEDs are soldered directly to the circuit board and are not replaceable.

    • @tbonesz1
      @tbonesz1 Před rokem +1

      @@motodynamic ok thanks for the info but what is the life of the bulbs what do you in case of bulb failure

    • @motodynamic
      @motodynamic  Před rokem +1

      @@tbonesz1 Bulb life is very long, will likely outlast the bike as long as the temperature is controlled properly, which is why we use a massive aluminum heat sink inside. In the case of failure, we will replace the entire unit within warranty. Most cases of failure of LEDs is overvoltage from the bike exceeding the threshold of our voltage regulator.
