  • Welcome friends! My name is Melissa, and this is Wild Hearts Homestead. This is real life homesteading with kids. The house might be a bit messy, projects might not get done in one sitting, one day, or even in one week, but we love this little life we are living; being submerged in nature, taking time to enjoy our blessings. Thanks for hanging out with us today! It’s always fun getting to chat with you!

Mullein flowers can be used for tea, cough syrup and an oil for ear aches. Serenity Hill Farmstead has an excellent video on all the uses for the entire plant.

Oh, and if you want to break up the soil along your fence lines and the edge of your garden, you might try an oil seed radish or a tillage radish, or both. They are great at breaking up hard ground. Jason over at Cog Hill Farm talks about using radish to break up his compacted garden soil.
