I have just installed the Lightme app, and then this video came up in my recommendations when searching for more info on light metering apps. Glad I chose what appears as your number 1 pick.

App makers with their subscriptions always... For me a reason to skip it. Thanks for the video btw. :)

Your welcome! Yeah not a fan unless there is a specific reason it would be needed. In the case of these apps not what I would want 👍

Yeah, "My Light Meter Pro" would've been on my list too. What I especially like is the "Classic" interface: There I can immediately see/read several shutter speed/aperture combinations! For "serious" applications, I just use the Lumu app (without the Lumu incident metering thingy that I also have, a somewhat older model).

Thanks for the information I too am a avid Spotmeter user user since 1973. My Soligor spot meter has died on me and I will try your recommendations until I find a good used Pentax or Soligor 1 degree spot meter. I had been meaning to get a phone meter app but there were so many of them. have been seeing more of you content since I found your channel and like the way you explain photography information. You research the information and understand it. I think I will try the number one and two apps you suggested. Thanks.

Thank you, appreciate that! Hope it works well for you, definitely prefer the Pentax over the phone 👍

I’ve been using My Light Meter Pro for quite some time. I find it to be highly accurate, plus it’s easy to use. I also have the Pocket Meter app but never use it. The UI is a bit clunky.

  • @alfredozappetelli1473

hello, I'm using Lightme too, tks for your video.

So, 80% of the apps you tested are not available for about 80% of smartphones out there 🤨Great... Why not make it Apple exclusive and not waste everybody else's time?

The best ones are only available on IOS… I do not make them. My Light meter pro seems the only one for both.
I even bought an android phone to test out the few that I found…it is a Samsung Galaxy. Honestly the experience was so bad I just gave up 🤷🏻‍♂️
