    ok, so there were 2 plant chores i did today. first i moved 2 anthuriums, a philo,an aglaonema and a syngoniummto growing in hydro just because i was tired of fighting with thrips and spidermites. in addition i repotted several more plants (after removing all their soil and then soaking them) for the same reason. my second major chore was bottom watering all my very dry succulents (about 50) 🌱🪴. 5 or 6 hours total but i loved every second....

    I am beyond impressed with the selection of plants you grow in those tents. I am surprised you don't have an algae problem. I would have it taking over the walls and everything else! How often do you do this chore? A second question - mealie bugs. Have you ever had an infestation and if not, what do you do to keep their numbers down? Systemics? I would think, the tent offers a prime location for growing mealies. Warm, oodles of plants and no nasty humans peeking in every day.
    I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Stay well and stay healthy.

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před rokem

      I do this about once a month :) sometimes more, sometimes less. Depending how much mess they made. But no algae problem at all! I had infestion, a serious one and I tried to use copious amounts of alcohol and it didn't help. In the end, I used systemics and that solved the issue right away.

    • @williammalone8097
      @williammalone8097 Před rokem

      @@BasiePlants Thanks for the reply. My plants are being brought in for the winter now, and they all get crowded together on shelves. Prior to bringing them inside, they are sprayed with neem oil, water and dish soap, and given a healthy dose of Bonide systemics. It seems to keep the mealies down until February or so, then the battle begins. I can usually hold them at bay until it's time to bring them outside again where we start the process all over again! Best wishes for you and all the best always....

    Having moved and sprayed down every plant in my house I totally get the confusion on where do they go back to where they were before? I have considered taking photos before moving them to refer back to but really does it have to be so exact? Your set up looks wonderful and plants look happy. You also gave me some nice ideas for small trellises. I am going to go digging for any video you put up on making other trelises. Some of the hoyas I have had longer are starting to need them.

    Yes, you are magical. 🪄 Sorry you had Covid but glad you haven’t lost your sense of humor. My chore today was sweeping my patio and fussing and worrying over my new Caudata Sumatra 6” cutting. I just got it yesterday. I love this plant soooo much. I have never grown a Hoya from a cutting and I’m so afraid I will kill it. I put it in equal parts cocopeat, perlite and coco chips, after rinsing the chips off. Watered it and propped it up with a tiny support and put a clear plastic jug over it for humidity. I’m so worried I’ll get up tomorrow and all the leaves will have fallen off. If none of my other plants make it I want this one to. Wish me luck and your hair is just gorgeous by the way. Take care and thank you for the video. 💚🌱🪴🌿💚
