- This is a taste test/review of Klondike Donuts in two flavors including the Boston Cream Bar and Triple Chocolate Bar. They were $3.49 each at Kroger.
* Boston Cream 1 bar (73g) = 230 calories

boston cream donuts don't even have a hole.................. just a gimmick to make you buy them
But they have the unique filling, that’s what they were going for

Less ice cream because of the hole yes, but the hole gives you a little more of the crunchy choco coating!
They should make Klondike donut holes. And the they should make a chunky, nutty sauce to go over them and call it Klondike colonic.
I have had the Boston Cream because, Boston Cream Pie/ cake is one of my favorites when, they used to do it in the Bundt pan. But, the Boston cream was ok but, I wouldn’t buy them again.
I am one of those people who dislike frozen dairy desserts... lol. They are always sickeningly sweet and I don’t care for their texture... I also agree with tami... I prefer to eat my ice cream slowly... so if I do get these types of treats I will often put them into a bowl and eat with a spoon... I wonder how the ounces of product compare with the original Klondike bars... if adding a hole really reduced the amount of it

Well theres more chocolate coating so it weighs the same as the original.

I always eat the chocolate coating off then eat the ice cream last.
Dark chocolate has more antioxidants than milk chocolate especially if u get it with 70% cacao. Once they add more sugar to dark chocolate, it takes away from the health benefits.
When I saw your pic of those online I thought the same thing! They are just giving you less ice cream for your money
Tami Just like the Nature Valley Granola bars are drastically smaller in size however the wrapper is the same size as the bar was before they cheated us. Same price too for less. These bars with the holes......less product/same price.
In some Nature Valley boxes, you only get 5 bars instead of 6!
I got some of these expecting boston creme in the middle. Got home and ate one... it doesn't even have a middle. I want my damn middles back :(
Klondike should make the Klondike Waffle Bar. Waffle pattern should save a little more on ice cream.

I avoid frozen dairy dessert like the plague. Years ago I noticed they kinda melt into a lumpy foam & normal ice cream melts completely.
So many flavors I've wanted to try from Breyers ice cream but... Frozen dairy so meh..
If the flavors are really good, we don't mind at all. These are two that you could skip.
Same. If I see the words frozen dairy dessert, I just look for something else. I don't eat ice cream very often so when I do I want get the full experience rather than a whipped up imitation product. But I can see why they use frozen dairy dessert with novelties like bars, since it can lower the calories.
They have less ice-cream but one could argue they have more chocolate to cover the middle. Seems interesting. Don't see why they call them a donut, but would like to try them out. ;) Thanks.
I agree. I would rather have the other Klondike Bars. I eat them out of a bowl or plate.

The Boston cream to me drifted into a mild butterscotch flavor
but I dont want a friggin' hole in my Klondike bar. I need maximum Klondike barness. the flavors sound awesome but that's about it.
Why is it a square
All Klondike bars are square. I'm sure the expense to make the round would have been way too much.

Breaking bad Heisenberg at least that has the two-bite appeal. Actually, they could keep it square and call it Klondike cubes like ice cubes.
Too bad you couldn't find the Blue Bunny chocolate donut ice cream. If you ate that blindfolded you would know you were eating a chocolate glazed donut. The flavor was that spot on.
I heard so many good reviews on that flavor! I wonder why they would discontinue something so many people loved.
Is this a current thing -- you just bought these? Klondike is telling me these are discontinued.
