    I have 50 miles in my pair. I have a slightly wider foot, so the upper is comfortable and appreciated. I've had zero heel rub. The foam seems to break in around 20 miles, which is odd for peba, but it did. It's more of a cruiser but has enough pop to keep you going at marathon or half marathon pace. I have the Adidas Pro 3, Saucony Pro 3, Vaporfly 2, and Alphafly 1 to compare to.

    I've tried it in-store, even ran on the treadmill in it. That's when my infatuation for it just ended and walked out the store empty handed. And then I saw previews and early reviews on the new Asics Metaspeed Sky / Edge Paris. Now, that's a supershoe I'm falling really hard for now.

    We will be awaiting for your verdict . Every opinion is partially or totally subjective . I am not an expert or elite runner . Just had a run with it , and loved that it can follow every pace , and give an average joe runner, the feeling that he can go on at a fast or slow pace . Just says : go on , we got more juice .. imagine what it can do for more higher caliber runners !! Enjoy the run , and keep rolling ! We are enjoying your vids !

    I have 120 miles on my sc elite and I love them. Zero heel rub, never bought the old version but when I did try them on didn’t feel great. But the new version looks amazing and feels even better. Wide toe box and wider platform equals better ride.

    I personally loved these shoes When I first got them. First 10 miles or so were fantastic. Poppy, bouncy, springy, and I don’t understand the weight comment, because these were so light for me, at first I was afraid the delivery box might be empty. I never weighed them, so, I’m probably wrong, but I loved everything about these shoes AT FIRST, with only exception being the silicon potholder style outsole which seemed to collapse/squish either one direction or the other. Loved them, until the foam started forming to my feet and the edges started digging into the insole insert, which in turn started digging its edges into the front part of my arches and gave me massive blisters. I heard the new alpha flies have similar issues for some runners … I don’t know. But, I tried taping down the insert to no avail. The sides of the midsoles flare up there I think to try to give some stability, but ends up digging into my foot. These also made me pronate like crazy. Not enough stability. I was never going to race in them, just for use doing tempo and strides, and they were great for that until the massive half dollar sized blisters they made. Doh. I actually like them so much, I’m eagerly waiting for the sc trainers with hope they won’t have the same blister issue.

    Makes sense that if you really liked V3 - which many people didn't - that you wouldn't get on with V4 as it is very different. You may well find it comes alive more when you push the pace.

  • @its1027
    @its1027 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Your main complaint is in line with mine, Fordy. I decided against the Elite v4 because it was too much like the v3, even with the switch in foams. I see the Elites as more of a tempo/marathon pace workout shoe than I do a racer personally.

      Metaspeed Sky version 1 had an almost racing flat feel for a carbon plated shoe. It's a better shoe than the Sky+ which added more foam under the ball of the foot in my opinion. Metaspeed Edge or Edge+ might be better still (never tried them).

    I love the SC elite 3 and run in the trainer, too. Which is where maybe a philosoohy ch a nge for NB. Maybe the Elite v4 replaces both the elite v3 AND the SC Trainer. Andthe elite v3 was not quite enough for most runners to complete the marsthon distancs so just a little more protection needed. Good for 2023 miles but not 26 miles.
    So replace sc elite 3 and sc trainer v2 with ins shoe: SC elite v4. Not a" racy' but handles the distance better. And maybe the SC Pacer gets bumped up a few grams too. Boom! 1/2 Marathon shoe.

    This shoe SUCKS…as a “super shoe”. If they rolled it out as a Superblast type. Do it all daily trainer…then ok. The weight/tongue are atrocious. It’s not explosive/aggressive. It’s a regular daily and stable trainer, with s super shoe price tag.
    The Cielo is what this shoe thinks it is. The weight is forgiven in that shoe for a “wow factor”. The V4 simply doesn’t have that.
