No, but mentalism is a kind of magic that happen lots of time to not go as it should be. Its more based on psychology than trickery itself. But in this case he used lots of mistractions, some forcing, etc

And the second method is just simple but effective and you’d probably laugh if you heard it, so don’t worry you’re not missing out on some genius secret. Just JS keeping up his awesome presentation as usual.
