- This was by far the most suggested song right before Christmas, and I was going to release a reaction to it on Christmas eve, that was my plat at least... I had totally forgotten how busy the days up to Christmas is so I had to rearrange my plans... Then a heft cold hit and latest I got the Flu... All up and running again now luckily.
THIS WAS SIMPLY A MASTERPIECE!!

I've watched a lot of reactions to this music and I really liked that you just let the song and the video speak from beginning to the end so that you get the full power.

I really did like your reaction! The respect you showed the band and the production...top! It IS a masterpiece! And the music is indeed grand but they didn't overdo it.. That is the beauty of Sabaton...they do a lot of research for their songs, they care and they don't take sides. It is an amazing way of learning of and from history. Do you know they have a phenomenal History Channel on YT with a lot of background info of their songs? Worth checking out!
The drummer of Sabaton, Hannes van Dahl, is the blonde soldier who fell down by the granate blast and the first one to step out of the trenches. He is married to Floor Jansen, the leadsinger of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. You heard her sing during the credits. Are you familiar with that band? I scrolled through your videos but couldn't find a reaction to them. No sweat dude, life happens. Welcome back and great reaction to an epic song that really captures the fact that soldiers understand the humanity that ties them to the enemy, even in the midst of the horrors of trench warfare. Par and Joakim actually started writing this song in 2016 but continued to work on it until 2020, feeling the story was too important for the music to not be perfect. It is interesting to me that Joakim says this song is actually a waltz the way it is composed. As far as when you did it, remember, Orthodox Christmas was only 2 days ago. Stay well and keep rocking.
