Growing up in the Caribbean, the granddaughter of immigrant Indians, I woke up to the sounds of the sitar and my grandfather chanting the Hanuman Chalisa before the sun started to rise on mornings. This was over 75 years ago. This rendition takes me back to my childhood where I was taught by example to put The Divine first in everything I do.

My grandmom has been sick for 2 month. She is in her 90's and bed ridden for 3 weeks and closed her eyes for a long time. She would only open her eyes when asked to. Today I made her listen to this as I care her head. 10 minutes in and she opened her eyes herself and said 'she love this'. I felt the power. This is amazing.

As a musician myself, this is one of the most beautiful works of music I've ever heard. I start my day with it. Love and admiration to its artists.
I have a brother who left for India many years ago. His dream was to become a beggar and live on charity. We have not heard anything more about him and now more than thirty years have passed. He would be 76 today, but he never returned. I hope that his soul will rest in peace in that beloved land of his and that this music and a thousand others even more beautiful resound in his spirit.

Thank You Aamit. This is so incredibly beautiful. My husband and I were listening to it while sitting in bed at dawn. My husband said "I think the Hindu religion is so beautiful." We used to live at Ananda community, an offshoot of Yogananda's SRF. This music is now in our "blood". No matter where my egoic mind is at the time, if I hear Raga, chant....my mind just shuts off and I am brought into Spiritual awareness. That is the genius of traditional Indian music. It comes FROM God and is given back TO God in our hearts.

I have felt a connection to India as early as age 4-5 growing up in Ohio I had vivid dreams of riding elephants, and colorful figures and also a curiosity about Mahatma Gandhi which is unusual for someone so young and living on the other side of the world. While going through comments, I literally felt very happy for showing lots of dive love towards our culture 🙏 from different parts of the world towards India and its culture . A True religion neither asks for conversation nor hate other religions. Our Sanathan Hindu Dharma says "Vasudhaiva tukumbakam", (whole world is like one Family). It always glows like sun for who stuck in Darkness. Peace to those who are in depression. Motivation for those who are in failure. It accepts the people with divine love and care who fall in love with it no matter who he is . Hinduism is just not a Religion 🙏it is always our breath, our emotion, our divine jewellery .. , it is a way of divine path towards peace, success, living a meaningful life...makes your life completely worth living in this beautiful world.
