Dude. I started looking at $20 keyboards. That led me to $50 keyboards. Congrats, now I want a $99 keyboard. 😪
good marketing 😂 hang in there
Same
Exactly this happens for me now
I ended up getting this keyboard and so far I'm pretty satisfied.
dude same story
I'm a software engineer & bought this keyboard, and let me say: wow. If you're a programmer, this keyboard is for you. The keystroke on this feels like what I wish every low-profile keyboard felt like. The multi-device connectivity works flawlessly - if you're planning on running multiple computers (I have a work mac, personal laptop, and gaming PC), this thing gets it done without any issues (on Windows re-pairing takes around 3-5 seconds, but that's my only gripe. Tried on my Ubuntu machine and it worked within about 1 second.). As mentioned, the stroke is solid & the cap play is minimal. The actuation is a little unclear since you have no audible click, but it's VERY hard to press these keys half-down, so you'll usually know when the key is pressed. Function keys (vol up, down, play/pause/etc) work well on both Mac and Windows. A huge selling point for me is that the keys are double-printed for both Mac and Windows keys, so I can go back and forth with ease. I haven't worked much with the Logitech Options software provided for this keyboard, but using it with my mouse (Logitech 720 triathlon - $50 and looks great with the keyboard with same device-switching) and it works great on Windows. I haven't had much luck with reprogramming keys on Mac, but that could be my fault. If you're a key-smasher like me who enjoys a low profile, luxury-laptop-esque typing experience, this is a great choice
My guy, I was looking at this keyboard for programming and you tipped the scales on my decision. Thank you
Absolutely dude. It’s been a year w this keyboard and frankly, most days I forget it exists - it just works. Battery is solid, functionality is good, never have any issues with missed strokes, backlighting is good. I’ll warn you that you’re not getting any kind of ultra luxury insane switches or anything. This keyboard is closer to like, the best membrane keyboard ever created. My only gripe is that there are small rubber feet on the bottom of the keyboard and one fell off, and created a kinda weird tilt to the whole thing. I ended up using some wiring harness tape I had (basically sticky canvas) to tape it back on & I haven’t thought about the issue since. Well worth it IMO & I hope you end up agreeing.
thanks for ur comment bro i'm a software engineer as well and been coding in long travel mechanical keyboard and it is really exhausting for me i feel like it made my typing slower over time without realizing 😂
Software engineer, your comment tipped the scale for me as well. Thank you!
I'm a software engineer too and using mechanical keyboard. Now I'm considering switching to the MX keys. Could you make the comparison? Thanks!
Thank you for reviewing this product! This has all the features i had been looking for in a keyboard for work at office and play at home.
I don't think you mentioned how deceivingly heavy this keyboard is. I was shocked... just makes it even more appealing to me! I LOVE this keyboard.
Can u use it while its wired? Or do u need to keep it wireless all the time(when not charging it)?
@@zegsi364 You can use it wired or wirelessly.
I've been using mine now for about 6 months and love it... I normally use a K95 Plat with Cherry Blue switches so I highly doubted I would like this but needed something for my studio. After purchasing I started a new project at work were I was typing most of the day and this has turned out to be phenomenal. It's completely different from what I'm use to but just love it for some reason.
great work done mate. The sound test really impressed me a lot and it shows how well this review is made.
I just love your voice and the way you articulate the sounds in English. Great for non-native speakers. Thanks and hugs from Brazil
Me too. I got very juicy.

I like it! Plus that A Roll lighting is A+
Thanks Danny for watching 🤘🥰
-D.
Does it work well? I read some stuff on the net that the sensor can freak out, and work bad, not adjusting the backlight correctly or at all.
Absolutely an awesome keyboard!
Just got it yesterday, and oh boy is it amazing to write on. It really is a great typing experience. Somehow it just makes sense, in some odd fashion, and even seemingly made me write even faster than before. Maybe it simply makes it that much more enjoyable to write, compared to my other keyboards. Then again, I must admit it's also the most expensive keyboard I've bought so far. But when I was out in stores checking and trying out other more expensive keyboards, they never felt this good to write on.
And it being silent, while typing yet not so silent that you won't notice whether or not you even typed the letters you wanted to. So in some cases it's even reduced my typing mistakes...
This review truly sold me on it, and I have no complaints at all, so far. Hopefully it lasts long enough, in both reliability and versatility. Time will only tell.
“They just pulled and apple” - well said :-)
Your on-camera presence is coming along very well. Great job. Nice review
This video was uploaded 3 years ago, and still undoubtedly one of the best reviews on MX keys 👍
DUDE!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IM LOOKING FOR !!!!!!!!!!
It looks really nice. I'm a programmer and I've used a logitech k360 for the last 10 years. And honestly, I just changed to mechanical keyboards to see if there's something better, but I didn't have the need for it. They are solid keyboards.
Hey {{3}}! As a fellow programmer, I can totally relate to your preference for low-profile keyboards. However, if you're looking to optimize your desk setup, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact and versatile tool that can help you keep your workspace clean and tidy. Plus, its dual-function capabilities make it perfect for both vacuuming and blowing away dust and debris. Happy cleaning!
Crazy how much throwing a few pieces of vibrant colored paper on the desk under the product changed the production value of the product review! Like it seriously is so simple, but it took it from looking like any other product review to more of a commercial vibe. Thanks for the solid review! Keep it up!
i just want to tell you that everyday a new guy with tech video appears, but rarely some of them do it right. You're doing it right. Very informative videos. All the best to you for the future.
While I was doing my review of it, they actually offered a free palm rest, albeit in a combo pack with the new MX Master 3, but they're not doing that right now (probably because it's out of stock on their website). $20 for it is definitely too much for it.
Yea I bought the MX Master 3 and MX Keyboard in november. Then they came out with that bundle in december. I immediately returned my keyboard and mouse and bought 2 bundles. My brother likes the palm rest , I prefer a thicker wrist rest but it's still nice to get them added on for free.
One thing that was missed in this review is that when working in combination with the MX Master 3, the Fn key can be used to invoke a second layer of mouse buttons and gestures.
For example, the horizontal scroll can become volume control.
Wow!! Didn't know that!
Sure I will try!
Thanks!
How?
Interesting. Except why not just press the volume up key instead of fn plus mouse😂
Finally a Logitech keyboard review video with typing experience! Thank you!
Really enjoy watching your review channels. simple, informative & conclusive. well done.
sounds just like my surface pro "type cover" keyboard, nice tactility for a membrane rubber dome design, even the backlight is very similar to how the surface pro type cover works.
They did technically "cut corners" by rounding them! :) Thanks for the video. Just ordered after comparing to the apple magic one for weeks!
This is the first video of yours that I've watched. You are a great presenter and made a quality video. I'm sold on the keyboard, thanks. Subscribed.
Nice 👍 welcome to the channel!
-D.
Video quality is phenomenal...On point review...Thank you !
I've been using this keyboard for a while.
I like it, but they could have make the escape key shorter and make volume down key separate from the F12. It's also hard to press the function keys because there are no spaces between F4 and F5, F8 and F9.
5:18 Proximity lights seem unique! The body can be smaller though at the top and the lack of a contextual menu button on the right of the space bar makes it a no-go.
Out of curiosity, what is your specific use for that button? I don't hear many people stating that it is used in their workflows.
Thank you so much ! Sound like I finally found a keyboard that matches my needs :D
I liked the way you demonstrated the keyboard sounds. Especially hitting the same keys on each keyboard. This was something I've been frustrated with other reviews. I know I'm late to the party but my needs have changed and I've been researching what's available.
Sounds like a very interesting high quality rubber dome experience. Almost like low profile topre or the old thinkpad keyswitches
Vincent Mapanao looks like apple keyboards?
@@mikamulperi or like Apple keyboards! Apple keyboards are kinda high quality low profile rubber domes. (Not the scissor switches they put in the MacBooks)
Did thinkpad keyboards become worse?
It is exactly the same as the apple keyboard switches.
"High Quality" and "rubber dome" don't belong in the same sentence. After getting a mechanic keyboard with blue switches I HATE every single membrane keyboard I have to type on.
I bought this keyboard compulsively, but as I watch reviews I feel relieved that it is actually a very good keyboard. D
Been getting much more heavily into writing again, and Best Buy sells a bundle with this keyboard and the MX 3. Easy purchase, thanks for the great video!
Finally! I was waiting for this review.
This keyboard looks amazing! It's a damn shame that it doesn't come in a TKL form factor. I really hope that changes in the future.
it now does
How I wish Logitech will release a TKL version of this keyboard
GREAT review! Thank you. I'm looking to buy a new keyboard/mouse combo and this review really helped me out. I'm curious, since you released this video, are there any newer keyboard/mouses that you would recommend?? Or would you still recommend this one? I'll be using it for day to day work tasks (no gaming).
Thank you for this glowing review of the SK650 :)
We need a TKL version of this! Come on Logitech, even the Apple Magic keyboard has a TKL version (which I am currently using).
I've been using the KD360 for 4 years now. Instead of removing the numpad they removed the control keys and hid them under fn combos on the numpad. The total size is the same as a TKL. I love this layout. I haven't been able to find another keyboard to replace it.
Because most people don’t want TK because it occupies more space and kind of unnecessary
Damn. I've been away for a while. Congrats on your weight loss, dude.
Such a nuanced review, delivered with excellent tone and perfect pacing. Thanks!
Damn! It’s like you’re rating a movie in rotten tomato 😂
@@leftoverpizza01 Then that review would be 100% fresh. *laughs
@@leftoverpizza01 LOL, its all in the delivery son.
Excellent review. Thorough, upbeat, friendly. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video! I recently purchased the Logitech K380, and although I've been enjoying it I've been wondering about the MX Keys Mini. It seems like they're both approximately the same size, and the layout look somewhat similar. So far it's hard to validate the big price difference, especially since I would consider adding on the Bolt receiver. Would love to hear your feedback. Thanks!
I have the K380 for two year now and too I badly want this because the K380 is purely bluetooth and I can't use for bios operations.
Great review. This os the kind of keyboard I have been looking for.
To add, I also remember going from a longer throw keyboard to a shorter throw keyboard and felt I was able to type faster as well. (:
Happy to pair this with a MX Master 2/3 down the road. (:
Wonderful review, bouncing between a dozen options, but this review with the side by side "click" sound byte sold it for me.
Got this today. Thanks for the review!
if this keyboard will have a TKL version, I'll preorder it, I'll buy it in next second
Yeah, my wrists started feeling way better when I switched to a tenkeyless keyboard and my mouse arm is no longer awkwardly off to the side. Would be two of these - one for home and one for work - if they offered it.
Can't use mechanical at work because of noise and coworkers...would prefer a quieter keyboard at home.
if they offered a navless (arrow keys are already on the numpad all be it in a horrid layout) with a trackpad that would be the best (and also a version with no trackpad for those who hate them)
Please make a TKL version. I just purchased this keyboard from your review, and I'm excited to get home and try it out :)
A TKL version would be /fantastic/.
MX Keys Mini is out now. Looks like they’ve heard you mate
I have this set up, KB and mouse, and I use a Mac Pro on one screen and a PC workstation on the other. The Logitech flow and built in ability to go between systems and copy and paste as well is awesome. I got them after seeing this review and found it is exactly what I wanted but did not know existed.
I’ve been waiting for this!!
4:37 for sound test
Thank you kindly for that. All these videos seem to be 99% mindless yammering and 1% useful information
I used a display model and really enjoyed the feel of typing with this board. I would prefer a OS specific (Windows, Mac or Linux) key layout, though, as I think it would declutter the cap's aesthetics. That might defeat a bit of the marketing angle, though. I would still like to own this board
Technically there is a Mac-specific one with only a Mac key layout. Can't say the same for Windows though.
I’m amazed with the resolution of this video. Compatible with all devices
First of all, I subscribed to the channel halfway through the video. Loved the approach and analysis in the video. Great edition! Great sound and image capture! Definitely a great job. I found this video because I'm looking for information from MX Master 3 and MX Keys, to update my setup. I want to go full wireless. But I would like to know, to play occasionally, are they good? I prioritize the work, but I play from time to time and would like something with quality for both moments. Thanks in advance for your attention!
you sold me on the fact that I can use the mouse and keyboard on 2 different systems at the same time.
So it’s the Craft without the dial? Nice! I have the Craft and it’s my favorite keyboard thus far.
The craft is a GREAT keyboard. I have one as well. But honestly I find the dial gets in the way more than it helps because its easy to hit by accident. This looks very solid.
Awesome review. I'm seriously considering this keyboard now
During this quarantine period, we are required to work from home. Set up my little office, bought one of these with the palm rest. It is expensive especially in Canada but it is worth the buy. I really like the keyboard feel. Great review!
Is anything better than that nowadays? I'm looking for that type of keyboard if you can recommend a newer version or something similar better please lmk! Great review 👌🏽
I hope, Logitech offers a newer version very soon!
No dude, it's not just you. I want the TKL version of this keyboard as well!!
Thank you! This video covered everything I needed to know and was very helpful to me. I'm looking for a keyboard for switching between my work laptop and home desktop with a great key feel.
First of your videos I've watched, and the combination of 1440p60 and the quality of your videos is amazing. Definite subscribe. I'm coming from the 740 logitech illuminated low profile, (on my 3rd, actually, got one for work, and one old one with significant deterioration of the the built-in wrist rest. This is a must buy. Now to see if the Craft is going to be good for Unity and game design...
Logitech knows how to things get done!! Except that palm rest.😅
I love the palm rest that came with my mx keys
Logitech knew how to get things done like 15 years ago. Not anymore.
@@tonn333 I returned the wrist rest to logitech :( It has no grip at all, so it will slide around all over the place on a glass top desk.
@@nw379 not sliding on my desks (i have two sets)
@@tonn333 My experience is with a glass desk. Hopefully the keyboard itself will have more grip!
I LOVE my mx keys (with free wrist rest) that my workplace got me so much that I bought one for myself too. Mx master 3 is awesome as well.
mxm3 is a game changer!!
Tõnu Rääk ik have the mx keys aswell, it’s an awesome keyboard. But my page up/down keys etc don’t really work, hows your experience?
@@candemet1911 mine work. How exactly do they don't work on yours?
Does the MX Keys have N-key Rollover? Specifically, W+Left Shift+Space? This key combination is deliberately disabled in all but the oldest K740 keyboards and some other non-gaming Logitech keyboards (my theory is that this is to encourage customers to purchase more expensive "gaming" keyboards). I'd love to buy this keyboard, but only if I can also game with it.
how is it for gaming ? any lags ?
Sir, you helped me make my purchase decision. I was sold because of your quality review. Loving the keyboard so far with my MacBook Pro. Thanks! You got my subscription
What a great, thoughtful review. I've ordered one - subscribed.
It would be best if it had the usual grouped function keys. Like on a standard full-size keyboard.
Programmers use the function keys every time and I personally find them impossible to work with because they are not grouped.
Because I use 4 different compilers with different function key values.
I mean, just a point, Red switches *aren't* tactile switches. They're linear. They're meant to give a smoother, quieter feel without a noticeable point of actuation. I would be interested in a comparison to one of the standard tactile switches (like Brown) or to a full-blown "clicky" one (Like Blue)
Seriously man. It just shows he doesn't actualy know shit about the products he is reviewing. Real bad look IMO.
But cherry mx browns are linear
@@eskamobob8662 orrr maybe it was just a minor oversight. Can't ever please you people
@@starmorpheus one slip up = oversight. An issues. An entire video where they clearly don't know what the terms they are using actualy mean? Out of depth. There's a big difference there
I have misophonia so gaming or classic office keyboards drive me nuts!
So I was looking at the Logitech MX and even had it in my Amazon cart but thought I'll just check around and I was interested in the Cooler Master SK650. After searching up the MX one last time for a sound test I almost decided on the Cooler Master SK650 but then you did a comparison out of the blue, one next to another and sold me on the MX.,

What a great review !!!! I can finally make a decision to purchase this one thanks 🙏
It looks great and I would love a TKL one. But they have the same flaw as many similar keyboards by not separating the function key groups. That's a real negative for software developers.
Hey there! As a fellow software developer, I totally understand your frustration with keyboards that don't separate function key groups. It can be a real pain for productivity. To keep your setup spotless, I recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making keyboard cleaning a breeze. It's a great tool for maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Plus, its price and quality are quite reasonable compared to other options out there. Hope this helps!

This would be the perfect keyboard if it was available in tkl.
They recently released the mini version(TKL), in the same price i think
@@supreetpp it is not tkl (would have just the numeric keypad removed), more like 65%. Still, a good option IMHO
@@cedricbrouste3112 my mistake, was searching for a lot of different keyboards, got mixed up 😅
I have one of these and I did notice that i was typing way fast than my cherry MX REDs and BLUES even Blacks the travel distance is the main reason why , but in terms of feel i would say a 65g brown is the feeling the tactile bump is felt when you bottom out its honestly not bad at all. The pairing is seamless i have my iPhone and both my Surface and mac book paired 1 press of a button and I'm on the other device, i have typed on this keyboard for hours and felt no fatigue and that's with out a the "apple pulling" wrist rest, its as thin as an iphone 11 pro , samsung galaxy s8 and above for comparison of course that the thinnest point, you can game on this wired of course bluetooth is way to slow for gaming, i did some CS:GO and COD warzone without issues
Jorge G Thank you for your thorough response. Much appreciated.
I’m getting into web development and need a full keyboard that is great for typing and can easily switch between multiple devices. From what I’ve seen/read so far the MX Keys seems to be a great experience overall. I also appreciate Logitech Flow; I have a Logitech MX Anywhere mouse so I hope that is supported with that mouse. Are their any non-gaming related cons to the MX Keys that you’ve noticed?

Love the backlght feature! I've always preferred to work in dim lighting and other cool keyboards I've had before this one didn't provide me with that choice. I highly appreciate that, as well as the dedicated key for screenshots.
TKL version of it, please! 🤓 I would flush my Apple Magic Keyboard (small version) for this for sure.. I damn hate that left FN key there.
"pulled an apple" is the best way to describe an overpriced item 😂
Saeed YUP! My thoughts as well.
They pulled a 🗿 with the music as well.
Saeed except it would be priced at $59 if it was Apple
I mean $100 is a lot for what these are. I burn through Logitech keyboard because I hate mechanical keyboards.
Ziv Zulander they hurt my wrist. I like extremely low profile keyboards so my wrist and fingers stay flat. Trust me as a developer I have tried every keyboard on earth.
Thanks for this review! Very informative. I came here after seeing some renders/photos on the Logitech website that show the Enter key configured differently, spanning where backslash should be and cut thinner on the lower row to accommodate putting backslash there. I looked at that and thought "ohhhh noo, why would they do this??" But after double-checking the rest of the page and watching this review, it seems that must have been a design they (rightfully) nixed. Thaaank goodness!
Anyway, this keyboard looks fantastic and the video was helpful and well-made.
The large Enter key is the way that UK/European keyboards are configured.
what a nerdy and great review!
thank you :)
I have gone through a lot of keyboards. I have landed on the Magic Keyboard from Apple a few different times because despite the great feel of mechanical, I just like the incredibly low profile keys and the simpler wrist-rest-free design afforded by that really thin body. I recently got an iPad too, so I needed something that could have multiple inputs. I got a K380 because it had a tablet stand and I really liked the input dial, but it was way too high off the desk for me and the keys were wobbly as hell. When I got a new mouse in the MX Master 3 I decided I’d pull the trigger on the MX Keys as well, and I’m so glad I did. It’s cleanly designed, the key feel is amazing (better than the Apple keyboard because it’s more damped and the keys are more comfortable, but the travel is still fairly short like I prefer) and the backlight is nice, plus it has input buttons! I’m so glad I got this thing. If you’ve got similar standards and you’re considering this I totally recommend it, and get the wrist rest too, it’s extraordinarily comfortable and not hugely expensive (plus it goes all the way across, for if you’re a number pad typist like I am.)
3:20 "It's pretty difficult to not miss a perfect stroke"... I have a hard time with this... 🤣
Lol.. when your double-negative goes rogue and turns itself into a triple....
Loved the review. Thanks mate!

4:10 The SK650 has linear switches. That’s kind of the point.
Jmandude5 Technically he never said that the SK650 should or is supposed to offer tactile feedback; he was simply stating that there wasn’t any tactile feedback on the SK650, which was something that he needed for a more enjoyable/efficient typing experience.
Alex Conner yes perhaps, but that shouldn’t be counted as a negative for the sk650 since his personal preference are tactile switches. It makes the comparison between the two seem a little biased.
