I made a stand very much like the recipe holder for my Kindle. For the bottom ledge, I used a square dowel cut to size. Works perfectly!

Oops, I wanted to pass on an idea I saw at an arts & crafts auction. A woman took big plastic bugs she bought at the Dollar Store (maybe four to six inches) & spray painted them with gold paint & mounted them on the cutting boards which she had painted a lovely gold brown. They became an instant art display for a kid's room, though I bid like crazy on the parking mantis. I didn't win, as the piece went for $35! The others for $15 each. She also took black velvet from a second hand best up top, stitched a simple spider's web in silver thread & put a spider brooch on it, stuck it in a frame. It became an art piece that went for $87. I really lusted after it but initial bid was out of my self imposed limit. It was gothic & glorious all at once. Creative genius & charity fundraiser gold.

I’ve been looking for the stencil on the first one, Do you know where I can find it?
Do you let the paint dry before you remove the tape?
I remove it while the paint is still slightly wet. This helps to prevent chipping and keeps the edges clean.
