- Learn how to QUICKLY label a transverse wave with crest, trough, wavelength, frequency, amplitude, resting position and resting points. We will also learn how to draw a transerve wave correctly on graph paper for a wave with a specific wavelength, amplitude and frequency.
Hello Anne :) I don't know if you still check comments, but unlike many people here, I don't study any maths or physics: I study Art!
On my subject 'Image and Sound' we had to draw a sound wave; it's the only occasion on my whole course where we have any contact with physics, and this video has really made it all easier to understand.
Thank you so much!
Glad it helped! Science and art truly are a wonderful combination.
I thank you for the ease of this video. My 6th grader is learning waves and this has been the best explanation for transverse waves we have found. Thank you so much.
Glad you both found the video helpful in learning waves! Best wishes to you and your 6th grader.
Thanks a lot , I was having difficulty in how to draw waves but now for this video, it became very easy.👍👍👍
Yay! So great to hear the video helped you Aninda.

Much nice and easy lecture
Think so the most easiest lecture on these topics on the internet
Thank you so much
Great the hear that!
Thanks for the video! This helped clarify my concerns about wavelength and how to correctly draw one!
Yay! Great to hear the video was helpful.
Great Video! Easy to understand and well explained.
The only confusing thing is infared.
Thanks!
after 3 years helps a lot
Outstanding! Thanks
Thank you.
Got a better understanding when watched ur vid....was sooo easy to learn.

Thank you so much for this! I have my science exam tomorrow and I'm studying right now and this video helped a lot!
Thank you and I hope you did great on your science exam!
@@AnneSchmidt I did I got full marks thanks to you! 🎉
your video is very unique😄😄😄
Thanks 😊
What if the wave length or wave graph I'm supposed to label the amplitude on has no resting position?-
Is displacement distance graph not possible in longitudinal wave?
Genuinely a very good and helpful video.
Thanks a lot♥️♥️
Happy to hear the video helped you!
thankyou! this was really helpful. I like the markers!
Wonderful to hear James! Chalk markers are fun also😀
How can you measure waves in the sky? Like haarp?
Is the horizontal axis the direction of wave?
Hi,
Just a quick question. Why is it the total wavelength counting the lines sums up to 9 and not 8? Thanks
Great video!
Thanks!
Thankyou so much 🙏👍
You are very welcome! Great to hear the video was helpful 😀
This makes everything easier, nice video.
Cool! thank you

Glad to hear!
I have to do a retest cus my other test failed thx sooooooo much
You are very welcome. Best of luck on the retest.
Nice
Thanks 😊
What marker do u use..that's awesome
They are liquid chalk markers! Super fun to use on my black lab tables. www.walmart.com/ip/Liquid-Chalk-Window-Markers-12-Colored-Neon-Safe-Easy-to-Use-Non-Toxic-Great-For-All-Ages-By-Creatov/361849962?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227282732291&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=342033428615&wl4=pla-675665430840&wl5=9052932&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=361849962&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAiA44LzBRB-EiwA-jJipLrwSP8Rx5La4RvKRQcFJRN1e7HIKjjLRJ_CmIvZLGYPmwmZjtp0LhoCt2sQAvD_BwE
Wow I love you r explanation
Thanks!
THANKSSSSS SO MUCH :))
Aww 🥰 thanks!!! You are soooo welcome👍🏻
This graph is done on inch graph or any other graph?
Yes, you should use graph paper.
Good video thx
Glad it helped you!
I am from India you are a great teacher
ASHOK YADAV thank you.
@@AnneSchmidt thanks madam are you form which country
This was very helpful
Glad it helped you!

Two questions. First, that looks at the start like you are writing directly on the typical black lab bench surface. What are you writing with? Second, in the latter part of the video you go over drawing particular waves of certain wavelength, frequency, etc. What class is this for? I've obviously learned about and dealt with waves in many different classes as a high school physics and chemistry teacher myself, but don't recall ever needing to use that particular skill, although what you're doing makes logical sense and wouldn't be that hard to extend to with this material.
I use liquid chalk window markers. They wipe right off the black lab tables (baby wipes work best to remove the marker). Second, graphing transverse waves is something I have my chem students do after we finish emission spectrums for elements. We draw six different waves and then "classify them" as ROYGBV. I just want them to correlate short wavelength with violet visible light and long wavelength with red visible light (I make the sure the violet is more frequent so as to correlate to energy). I like to do graphing whenever possible to build that skill.
Is it a sound wave
thank youuuuu
:)
Thank you mam
You are very welcome 😊
Wat if the wavelength is an odd number?
If the wavelength was 5 then the first crest would be at 1.25, the wave would cross the resting point at 2.5, the trough would be at 3.75 and then the wave would cross again the resting point at 5. This would give a wavelength of 5. Best wishes!
But plz do tell how, How did you know where to place the crest like you put it at 2 that part always confuses me.
The crest is at the 1/4 wavelength and trough is at the 3/4 wavelength. So if the wavelength was 8 then the crest is at 2, crosses the resting point at 4 and trough at 6.
@@AnneSchmidt thank you very much.
I still don't understand for the part where you graph
Cool
😎
Thx u so much i have a task to draw sound waves and i dont know it.
Hopefully the video helps you!
Thank u
i subbed
and like
thanks
Make a 3D design to represent longitudinal and transverse waves on A3 sheet yeah kaise kreeee
Please speak in pbi
if i donʻt save your video i will fail my exam
Well then ya better save it! Lol 😉
Me As A Grade 7 Student Thank U But I don't get it 😭
Keep trying and stay positive like a proton!
Ooh thank you no.

Great! So helpful. But it's "infra" with an "r," not "infa."
Glad it helped you! Oops. My brain and my mouth must not have communicated correctly there. Human error. Yes, INFRARED!
Thanks mam
