Chevy couldn't use the "Highlander" name after Toyota snagged it; there can be only one.

The Chevy S-10 Highlander had a built-in battery charger in its tool case. No truck has that, and that's a genuinely useful item.

I'm an old AMC owner and enthusiast, and like it! A version built on the 1970 AMC Javelin would be great too.

I watched an interview with the Alexander Brothers a while back. Dodge gave them the money to build the Deora and when they finished it they called Dodge to tell them to collect their investment...no one at Dodge had any record of it or knew anything about it! The build took a few years and the guy who gave them the money must have moved on. Still, Dodge were apparently very impressed when they saw it.

How is Jeep not using the "Cowboy" name, now??? I could envision a 2-door Jeep Compass with a stubby bed. Perfect keg-hauler for the youthful, first-time-buyer market.

LOL...the Deora was a one of a kind show-truck that only toured car shows across North America [I thought it was gorgeous, when I saw it at a Canadian car show, back in the 80's]. It was NEVER publicly sold, nor even duplicated for the car show circuit - it was 1 of a kind...unless you count all the plastic model kits...LOL

.....it is true, that their designs were a bit "stodgy" - but AMC did engineer some pretty respectable features into some of their vehicles .
Later, when the Eagle brand was released, the full-time 4-wheel drive in the sedans, wagons, and SX 4's were ahead of their time .
