We had a 1983 SE. First reg in 1984. Mum & Dad bought it off a factory worker in 1987. When I was 14 I leant to drive it and was the only one in my year that was driving. Mum was a teacher so I got to drive it on school grounds. Dad paid $8,000 for it and I got my licence in 11991 and was driving mum to school every day. Did 500k's a week. Sold it in 1993 for $3,500. Dad offered me to buy the car but it was so gutless with the 2.0 Auto & Air. The engine was really tired and needed too be rebuilt. Built was also really rusty. If it was more precious I would of bought it. It was a 1 of 1 build. 2 tone gold. It was ta s prototype to the SuperSaloon.
I also remember an advert for the launch of the GH Sigma where a GE transformed into a GH. Never seen it on CZcams or anywhere else but I can remember it from my childhood.
I test drove a 2-0 GH Sigma auto once. Steering very heavy, and slower off the line than a fully laden Kenworth reversing up a hill with flat tyres! Never bought it. Did have a Colt and Magna from the 80's though. Their performance was improved.
In South Africa they were sold as the Mitsubishi Colt Galant. My dad had a metallic blue 1600. It ran forever without problems.
I like how they used the Sigmas from each year.
Such a beautiful car
We had a brand new 1982 SE. As a child I’d go into the garage just look at it.

Nice how they didn't edit out the Chrysler badges on the first three

We had a blue family car in 83 and I can see remember that engine sound. Then we upgraded to a 3.3 SL/E Commodore.
