Cryostasis - The Cursed Arctic Horror FPS

- Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason is a 2008 horror FPS that may as well be cursed, being infamously inaccessible in just about every imaginable way. However, it has had a cult following since its release; with its story, visuals, and atmosphere frequently being praised. Using my magic to bypass this curse (don't question it, it's probably just luck), I delved in to see if it is a curiosity worth recommending.

I've never got to play Cryostasis and when I finally discovered it, it was too late to try to acquire it legally. But I'm holding hope for a remaster; it is the last big production from the developers behind the god-tier DOS shooter Chasm: The Rift, which was in abandonware limbo for aeons. However, it was just recently resurrected, remastered and re-released - so there is hope Cryostasis gets a proper modern-day port.
They're also the same developers behind the Carnivores series and Vivisector: Beast Within. Chasm is probably their best-known game at this point, though I'm personally looking forward to playing Vivisector, probably for a future video.
@@marriedtomychair Vivisector is great! I just remember Chasm the most because unlike Quake, it ran on my 486 SX. I shared our Pentium with my brother those days, so when I couldn't play Quake, I went with Chasm instead.
By the way, ICYMI, the original version of Vivisector - Duke Nukem: Endangered Species - got leaked not too long ago (part of the numerous Duke Nukem related leaks that included Duke 4ever, Duke Nukem Forever 2001 and Duke Nukem 3D Reloaded).

Yeah baby woooo!!! Crypostasis is kino of the highest order. Still a visually impressive game
