If you are a new golfer or looking to get better then this is your guy. He is the only instructor i can watch after seeing tons and tons of videos. This guy is REALLY good at explaining everything in a way that even the beginners can understand. Alot of people can play really good golf, but it takes a certain method to teach good golf and Clay has nailed it.
One of the best instructor there is. 👏👏👏
Wow that's a great lesson, hello compression and power. All of us old golfer needed to hear and see this. Thanks so much
Clay is actually the best! He explains every aspect very clearly. I've watched a lot of golf vidios and Clay's are simply world reference.
Great video as usual Clay. Always very clear and concise instruction. Just wish it was as easy as you make it look. Thanks 🙏🏻
May 10th i shot 41-39 for a nice 80. Lowest round this Century - 1981 started at 16. i am 56. only had one round lower in my life. Between you and one other channel, I give the majority of credit to TOP SPEED GOLF for giving me a more precise set of "feels"! To date I have not really got in many reps or drills - i just go play golf and often the warming up is the first 3-5 holes. I just recently ordered your system and am completely happy with the content and format. I see the 70's in my future.....it will be 90-100F in Houston....but i will be a very happy golfer! Thank you SIR!
Great instruction for more ball compression and lag and distance. Cant wait to try it.
Does it apply just to mid irons? Or to driver and woods too?
Just started playing golf 2 months ago and watched a lot of Clay's videos. I've been doing this move by exaggerating it, but wasn't sure if it was good or bad since no other instructors had talked about it in this manner. Now I know. Thank you! 1,270 views in less than a day. Wow!
I never had lag or swung through the ball, I hit the ball and kind of stopped. No distance not consistant at all. Now I have lag and swing through. It sounds good when I hit it now, no more hands stinging from all the bad miss hit, even if I do get a little deep it still goes straight. I`m 58 and this is the best swing I ever had. I love this guy. They should call it the golf genius channel. His teaching are very easy to impliment into your swing
This is a great feeling, but I do feel like you have to explain rotation more. Most golfers don't rotate (open) their hips through impact so that they can actually make this move. When I finally learned how to properly rotate you find that it is very easy to get into the positions that everyone looks for at impact.
I've been looking into the types of releases to hopefully find one that suits me best or helps me the most. It may be irrelevant, but how would this type of release be classified? The three types I've been seeing out there the most are the Slap Hinge (which I don't think you're showing here), the Crossover, and the Push Release. Maybe a combination? I'm just the kind of person that is able to make more gains with better understanding driving the pursuit. Thanks for everything.
Great tip, never thought of it that way!
Great lesson ... Thanx
damn, not actually bad vid. can’t wait to take this to the range!
if we swing thru the ball, the power evenly 50 50 left n right hand or which hand shud hv more power. tx
Clay, thank you so much for posting this. I practiced it for the last two days and my golf swing has turned upside down on it's head. I'm now hitting tour quality shots 90% of the time. And that remaining 10% is just old habits creeping through like overswinging or flipping that will take a little time to work out of my nerves.
I feel like I'm a true golfer now. I now KNOW how to hit a perfect golf shot because of your instruction. Previous to that, it was always luck; it was always a mystery as to why I would fail or succeed.
I have it down. BRO HUGZ!!! You just changed my life!
Did u change ur grip at all ?
@@mrcommonsense9074 I just became aware of the anti-roll grip/impact position from his internal only video. I'll be working on/with that next.
@@mrcommonsense9074 btw - I was at the practice facility yesterday night, hitting next to a female college player (she was amazing). I was striking the ball almost as good as her with that pro quality trajectory and pureness. But when I had a miss hit, it was a severe duck hook, like 50-70 yds off... it was embarrassing. Stupid flip is still in my arms/wrists...gonna take time I suppose
@@Feverdream7777 yeah I’m actually playing good. Low eighties is good for me it’s been a journey. So I’ve been practicing last couple days. I’m not that far off. My misses seem straight left about twenty yards. Obv trying to draw it . But it goes back to the basics. If u relax. Have a relaxed grip. Balanced swing we will be fine.
@@mrcommonsense9074 yup, relaxed grip seems to be key so that the shaft can trail back naturally... a tight grip (especially on the right hand) from overswinging seems to be where my flip starts. I want to bomb it out 285 each time, but I'm just ruining my shots because of it.
How can I fix your first swing in the video. I’ve taken videos of myself and my swing and I’m sort of throwing my hands at the ball rather than a pendulum type swing
Insanely away-giving sauce.
Great set of swing drills. This one is a ‘keeper’!
Does this pertain to driver too???
Some great instructors on tube. But clay is the g.o.a.t.
Whts the deal with a mid toe
Strike or heel stirke..cant seem to get the straight line release after swing left foot balance ?? Your student on top speed golf, explain Clay
Clay Maybe you will read this. Inverted K are your lessons built around this setup?
This guy is a really good instructor
🤣 pete ness head 👏 what a name
It is known😁
Thanks Clay!!! This video addresses my problem exactly!!! I cant wait to get out on the range and practice this.
K, the missing link. Thank you !!!
I do smack the ground but multiple inches before the ball.
Ok I’ve been hitting ball great. Now I’m working on something else. Definitely want to draw more. But it’s sad because I’ve been playing well. Yet I’m changing lol
Practice makes perfect, but finding a good approach to "practice correctly" is the most important thing. As a table tennis pro/coach, this is what I been telling my students all the time.
Thanks, Clay
💪
the reverse K is better to start it at set up
Man u need to be so strong to have this type of swing.
I think most golfers won't have the swing speed or strength to play like this
FIRST I'VE HEARD OF THIS...COMPUTED AND ADDED TO GAME SIR😂I'M BETWEEN 91&104 RIGHT NOW...ONLY 3 MONTHS BACK IN THOUGH(12 YEAR GOLF LAYOFF)
When I try to keep the bow in my lead hand, on impact, I get a very sharp, quick pain in the wrist. Trying to hold both wrists like this just feels uncomfortable.
You don't hold it. It's a momentary position that occurs at impact.
@@xxthadeucexx 2:04, he says feel like the hand is staying like that. He is even demonstrating the lead hand staying like that.
@@REal_Machiavelli Feel and real ain't the same. If his hand actually stayed like that, there would be no possible chance for him to finish his swing with hinged wrists.
Give it a whirl .
This is really hard to get us to.
Hey clay...been following u for years. Thx 4 all them gems that u've shared for free !! Life must be good, looks like u've gained a few xtra ... dechambeau clay ? 😬
I say “let’s get it a whirl” before every shot now.
Its pretty sad that you swing a 6 iron as fast as I swing the driver. Haha Thanks for all the tips
I just tried it, and it proved to be very effective.
This guy is great, reverse k smack has helped me so much but you have got to trust it which was scary at first
Reverse K is seriously and unnecessarily complicating the swing. In my opinion, asking a person to picture himself in a static position (the K) while in a fluid motion that takes miliseconds (the downswing at impact) just isn't a real help.
Agreed.
I agree sounds like good advice. BUT I hate being scammed into viewing more information by PRESS HERE TO SEE MORE . I would have subscribed after video .
Why scammed? All he did was offer more content related to this video an d gave a quick review. The theme of this lesson was covered before the extra content. And the link was free, don't see the problem here.
@@ripTrEaD and gave him a free lesson to boot.
I understand what you're getting at but PGA pro's typically aren't making all of their money from CZcams. A lot of the ones we see here are great instructors giving us a lot of valuable info for free. And the free info isn't personalized for any single one of us. It's part info to help us "try" to self-diagnose, part advertising for their actual businesses, and part a demonstration of their value as instructors. If you've ever taken some lessons from different pro's you know that some pro's aren't as effective in helping as others are in the instructional world.
There’s no scam here…he has a full Top Speed Golf system that breaks down every piece of the swing and takes you through intentional step by step drills to improve your game. I’m a subscriber myself and it’s an awesome system. He only has tidbits of info out here for free on CZcams but access to the entire system is better.
i BEEEN COACHED THE INVERTTED K ALL MY LIFE...MY COACH PASSED AWAY NOW LOOKING HELP
Has some good ideas but makes everything way to complicated. I lose him after 2 minutes
I wish you would get to the point faster. That's how people pick up things. Your long overdrawn talks make me lose interest
Don't watch then Richard.
@@markbrett2969 lol
I don't hear any mention of what state of health the golfer needs to be in before attempting this. Did you ever stop to think that some people don't swing "correctly" because their body will not allow it? What if someone tries your technique and injures themself as a result? This swing is not "easier". The easiest swing is likely the one the golfer already has, right or wrong. Downvoted for inaccuracy.
