We paired for cod in New England and we operated with one boat hauling the net and taking all the fish.Next tow the other boat would haul the net and take all the fish.When we got to the barn both boats unloaded and we split the stock 50 50.The way you guys split and both boats take a split seems to be an incredible waste of time.Only making money when the net is on bottom.And yes one boat wound up unloading more then the other but it was a luck of the draw on which boat worked harder from one trip to the next.
Hi, We do it like that when we catch little, but if we have a good haul like this we split the fish so we get the fish packed fast for optimal quality. We sell on a public fishauction, so we only get top $ if the fish is perfect.
