Instead of explaining what a BUS is with using kids as an example, think of it like this:
OUTPUTS are audio signal going from OUT of a place and routes INTO a place. That place can be digital or analog.
BUSSES on the other hand are merely DIGITAL outputs allowing to route in the box. 😊

In addition to mixing in Stereo and Atmos for Ambré, Destin Conrad, Serpentwithfeet, Amindi, etc I’m also building and configuring Atmos system for most of the commercial studios and pro home studios in Los Angeles for music mixers and film mixers. I believe Atmos was purely developed for VR/AR. All of those technologies Apple was introducing was for their headset. Listening to music in the Apple Vision Pro has to be its own dope experience

I thought atmos was stupid until i heard a couple albums done really good through apple ear pods… thats when it clicked to me with apple really pushing it. It sounded sooooooo good and spacious the music took me to a whole different world. I still dont mix atmos but it definitely changed my mind about it.

Dolby ATMOS I have the same opinion. Movie applications 100%, music not so much, UNLESS you have the correct speaker set up. Spatial Audio is an incredible game changer for podcasts with AirPods Pro. It adds such a natural room reverb and dimension that stereo just misses. Highly recommend Spatial Audio for Podcasts
The plugin causing your crackling sound may be Ozone 11 in Rosetta, this was the problem for me and my brother both on our M2 Max Macbook Pros. The plugin itself works fine, but processing in anything above 16bit was causing us issues.

For protools 2024.3 as of right now runs fine on mac os 14.3.1 sonoma

Yo, I’m on ableton, but I think I’ve had the same issue 1:47 I think it may have something to do with your plug-in licensing, something goes to sleep, and then it’s not awake when you open up your laptop and it shuts down your computer

So I should only use linear phase on something like a parallel compression track, and natural phase on my regular tracks? and never use Zero latency mode unless im tracking. vocals...?? So I'd have my track with natural phase on it then send it to my parallel bus and throw linear phase on that bus.. Am I getting this right?

RJ my m1 max restarts my cpu too. I found that it was actually my UA console app that was causing the restart. I just quit the app before closing my cpu now

About that M1 issue,i have a funny one myself : Everytime I switch off my Apollo x4 while the computer is in sleep mode,the macbook goes brrr,crashes and restarts 😂😂
Sent it to Apple,they said it was fine,went back to the studio,problem is still there...from what I found out on forums,it seems to be a "Kernel Panic" caused by either a faulty hardware connection or a faulty software...but my Apollo works fine,cables too,console app is up to date,and all my daws and plugins are legit....drives me crazy 🤬

I’d like to think it’s because of the Apollo. I can’t remember my biggest pet peeve that caused me to sell mine so fast after getting it, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made. My M1 Mac cooperates with the SSL 12 flawlessly coming in and out of sleep mode 🤷🏻♂️
I got my Apollo back in 2016 when they came out with the thunderbolt and had a few issues workflow wise that caused me to part ways. Glad I did it before spark came out too 😅

FL crashes for me on m1 and constantly bugs out with a lot of plugins. Been using it consistently for two years. Logic is great and hasn’t had this issue once.
AnyDAW bugs out with a lot of plugins. The most of you plugins should be on the buses you should have a EQ and maybe 2 compressors on you tracks.
@@Sub-Zero-gr5cfa lot of plugins, meaning almost every plugin that I use, not simultaneously, just one by one I encounter errors. And even if you did use multiple plugins your Daw should not bug out unless you’re still rocking windows xp
