Nothing is right in the eyes of haters, whether this award was based on voting or by judge votes, i believe the result remain the same, Lee Jongseok as the winner. If there is a daesang for drama category, I also believe that W will win it because W is not like any Korean stereotype drama, it is smart, creative, different and fresh and Kang Chul is Lee Jongseok, it is a role that perfectly best suited played by LJS. I don't see any rude nor arrogancy in his speech, all i see is a surprise and nervousness in him that made him temporarily blank to what will he going to say, i know how it feels cos I've been there myself.

And he also said that he took two pills to calm himself down (I assume), so he must have been really nervous. And the worst you can do to a person with this problem is to not let them leave the stage and even making them talk more! That was extremely insensitive and rude. He had said what he wanted to say and that should be enough!

They shouldn't have forced him to talk like if it was due to being ungrateful, he must have felt hurt and worried about that, because he really is genuine and thoughtful, I can get if they would try to nudge a little to get him out of holding back due to the strong emotions, but they insisted, it's not about long speeches, it's about how meaningful it is for each person, everyone is different, it doesn't make it any less important, as per he shouldn't have compared him with anyone else making it actually awkward and hurtful.
