- Could I share something with y’all? Today is Riv’s b-day. Amber and I don’t count the years. We’ll always know him as being three. That was the last birthday we shared with him.
You know-losing him just about killed me. On that grief journey, I left NO stone unturned to heal myself, but nothing helped until…everything changed. These last four years have been the wildest ride of my life, and yet I’ve mostly kept it to myself until now. I want you to know the whole story (at times as unbelievable as it is). I want the information that I learned to be available to anyone that is hurting. I’ve written this intimate story in the best form of media that I know how: a book. It’s called “Like a River.” Will you read it? Will you send this to a friend that needs it? I really hope you do.

I lost my youngest son in 2017, he was 16. One of my best and latest pics of him not playing sports was with you. You and Brian are my cover/background on my phone. Gonna be honest, I really didn't follow you or Amber until he passed. Finding your picture with him on his phone reminded me of a time when he was so happy...and has become one of my favorite pictures of him. I watch Amber every week now. She has helped me so much. You see, I never knew religion until I lost Brian, and Finding God has been my rock as a single mom with no immediate family still alive. I think in his own way he knew I would need you two with help in finding God, and that is why he made sure I had his picture with you. ❤🙏❤️

I lost my parents dad at 15 , three months later my mom had just turned 16. I can't wait to get the audio book. Just lost my sister in October today is her birthday. She is now 70 in earthly years.

Love this trailer, Granger. I am saddened by your sense of loss. I reached out to you to offer you some comfort, my brother. We are all grains of sand in this soul society. We are all part of something far greater than our eyes can see. I am an author as well. My life path resulted in me sharing my perspective in books, like you are doing. I'm also a musician as well. God gave us this gift, and our life experience to share with others. We never die. Only the flesh does. Spirit is what we are, the mind is the software that drives our brain, and that is the hardware that is tied to the body (the vehicle). Spirit is the creator in this world. Never lose sight of that! I'll get the book. Got my mystery cd's from Yee Yee today and a tShirt. Getting my Live Like Riv shirt next month. I found Granger's music really late. My wife, Amber, listened to it when we were in Tennessee at our cabin. I didn't like it at first but I grew to like his music. Something in his voice was calming. How you could tell he loved the Mountains, loved the open fields , the blue sky, the woods. All the things me and my wife love. Then I saw Granger's pod cast and met him at the Dallas Bull in Tampa, FL at a meet and greet. He was such a nice person I was really amazed at how he's been able to overcome (him and his wife Amber) the death of River. I have a son and can't imagine something like that. It's terrifying. Looking forward to the book but also, a little dread about reading it to be honest. I've lost 2 brothers and a father early in my life so I know heartbreak. Sometimes we want to pack it away and pretend it's not there. I know myself that I've struggled with terrible anger that I used to push deep down inside. Then at times I'd explode like an atom bomb at people. Thankfully , those days are gone.

I can't wait to read the book! The songs Something is changing and Forever Forward are one of my favorite songs. We need to keep going forward and not be lost with fear and doubt. I am sorry to hear about your son. Don't lose hope to those who read this. We need to let God show us the way and help us not to struggle with our pain. It 's definitely hard to lose someone you love or our friends with. Stay strong and walk by FAITH! And not by sight.

Hi Granger. I can’t wait to read your book ! I to know the grief and heartache and pain of the death of a child . My precious 13 year old son went to be with Jesus in March 2000 he had leukemia. I still have the heartache from that day many years ago now but I know he is with Jesus and I will be there with him again ! Thank you for sharing this book with us !

That really hits a note, I think in times of grief and hopelessness some of us try to do exactly like you said and be the rock however if that rock doesn't have everything it needs to be a rock, it will break apart.

Greif is a gift Grainger, It is loss, but it's also accountability to the experience. and recognition of lost moments where joy was never cultured. Greif done right is a blessing. This teaching was given to me by my grand father and practiced by for me by both my mother and father. Given the hope for the life yet to come, death needs to be taught as a blessing and proof for what we hope for, from our youth.
Hi Granger, I'm currently reading your book, I got it from my local library because I was looking for a new book to read. And as I looked into the book reading a little of it to see if I would like it, I got invested into reading it because I love reading about and listening to true crime podcasts and true story podcasts.
I'm so sorry of what happened to your little boy River. I know you are a grieving father and I can tell your whole family was very upset that your little boy just died at 3 years old and that made me cry when I was reading it, but I'm slowly getting through the book like your slowly getting over his death but you and your family are holding it deep in your hearts. And I'm so sorry you lost your little boy at age 3.

This testimony let me tell you, man, the Holy Spirit is working deep in you and through your story. I'm listening to this sad event it has me hung up im not to sure what to feel but I can tell you this Ole boy has a tear drop down his face because the lord is great and he brought your family to him stronger and better than ever. Your boy is with his father in heaven, and he will forever be your angel watching over you guys.

You can't love without the pain it goes hand in hand people always tell me they will not get another dog due to the pain of their loss and I say you mean you will never love again to avoid the pain. Than a couple weeks later they have a new puppy😊

You have it right. See, even the biggest rock will and can move in any river by the hand of God. The smallest pebble will sink to the bottom and surround itself by the other pebbles and stand firm. But that big rock, just might get pushed on. Maybe it’s because that big rock needs too and has a purpose on down the river and can’t stay in one place? It doesn’t have to be a negative. It can serve a positive ❤
