That woman worked harder than any other customer Ive seen on this show. Great job. I love these videos
Mr. Robadopulas yeah man!
Right? She should have her own channel. Very inspiring.
Mr. Robadopulas that lady kicked ass
Hahaa for real 👌😂
She's like my grandma I'll be mowing her lawn and she'll keep asking me to let her mow some of it.
Now I have to mow the driveway too? ...IT NEVER ENDS!
yea....I wish grass was emo it can cut its self.
Lol
Right??? 🤣
I'm pretty sure Terri is out-compacting Rodger.
I loved to see the woman not afraid to work hard. Good quality person there.
Jake Brouillard She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
that's a hard working woman.
Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking watching this.
+kodiak wild Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if she grew up on a farm. My mother was the same way up until recent years, she is 86, she grew up on a farm and picked cotton, etc. When I was young she would work an 8 hour factory job and then come home and cook supper and then go out in her vegetable garden and work it for a few hours, no daintiness with her, just tough old school, like this lady.
+tujohnboy definitely great qualities to have, & a fine example for children to see while growing up. glad you had that. always good to hear.
SO TRUE
She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
I'm glad they mentioned calling your utility locater. I feel like a lot of DIY and home improvement shows overlook such a simple and crucial step.
As a utility locator, please don't call. I just guess and make it up anyway. Only had 3 blow ups!
He's really putting that old broad to work
Lmfao
+Robert Greco - She's not afraid of work unlike most of the younger generations. ;)
As an old broad myself, all I could think was that I hope she had pain meds the next day. I give her a ton of credit, however. TOH has had problems in the past with whiners.
Braaahd
Haha absolutely. She's a tough Gal! Way to go Gma!
I love love LOVE this show. Love seeing homeowners working hard with the masters. Demonstrates that TOH is not a show that pays for supplies and does all the work. Homeowners are put to work and learn so much along the way. Subscriber for life!
There a lot of advantages, rainwater percolates through rather than running off and contributing to flooding. Another is that if you live in a northern climate, the rougher surface provides better traction than asphalt. I have had it on part of my driveway for 8 years and has held up well - better than the asphalt sections.
does it kill the grass you plant on top of it at all(from driving)? do you have any pictures? just curious
@@codycross7063 It all depends on the amount of traffic and the climate. At William the Conqueror's castle in Falaise they used it in the keep for a path to allow deliveries. At ground level it is barely noticeable. From the Bailey looking down you can make out the path but only if you know what you are looking for. The climate in Normandy is mild and fairly damp so it is great for growing grass. In a hotter more arid climate it might be different. I would not expect it to be as nice as undisturbed grass but a lot better than pavement.
MAN! he was working that old lady hard haha
Major Greenz She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!! And she likes it
And she is only 60 something she isn’t that old
She seems lovely and hardworking
Dragon Fire She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
this woman work harder than all the women had been on this show
T DUB different times she grew up with hard work most people these days don't know what hard work is.
Terri has some serious get up and go.
bg147 She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
Great hustle by that woman!
that's one hard working woman!
Ernest Gutierrez She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
Wish we could have a better look at the finished project.
that woman is hired !!!!
"That'll be cool!" This lady is great.
She is great...job looks good too
This is the kind of thing you install to avoid mud ruts where you occasionally park the second car or weekly cross over with your boat trailer / RV. This is NOT for a daily use driveway.
Good. I was wondering why. And if this was going to hold up.
I would have like to seen a better view of the finish.
She is a good helpmate.
My fingers hurt.
Hal: Well now you’re back is going to hurt because you just pulled landscaping duty.
I have weeds AND grass in my driveway. Job DONE!
the lady is doing all the work!1
Terri is a god damn machine.
Bitter Rotten She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
I really missed the camaro parked on the lawn look so luckily I can still get it with this.
One tough old lady working so hard on her job!
I'd like to see this grass area in a year or so. Pray she has lots of rain. Mine dries out in the summer -lookin at irrigation. Mine also has a 50mm 'Root Zone' UNDER the grid.
I was brought up its impolite to mock the utility about their gas.
Your comment made me go back to catch this one!
She’s a beast!
Which grid paver did you use ? Thanks
Grandma's putting in work
where do i buy these tiles?
I love it it seems terribly expensive.
do we tamp down the soil you put on the pavers? tia
Without putting a landscape fabric between the plastic and the gravel, that soil will wash right through in no time.
I say sand, not gravel
It was interesting that they chose to lay sod over it. Most times I see this stuff used, they seed it, and the grass grows in the pods.
The roots will hold it in, no probs.
@@user-xx7pg3vw9k
It will also have the soil in the sod kind of fill in...
@@VivaLaGolf42 that makes more sense in my mind. If the grass grows 1/2 inch below the top of the plastic, then it won't die. And you can still mow over it.
Did they scrape up a bunch of stone so they could haul in more stone to replace it?
Should of gave that women a check
jshd jsjsjs She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!
I like that truck at the end
They removed gravel to add gravel?
That's a tough old broad.
My respects to her.
TOH hire that woman.
Alonso Martii She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
that old lady seems more active than me
Blackk Starr She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!!
Naniuma is a work horse!
can i leave a car parked on it for long periods of time or it will leave spots and lines where the tires pass?
yes the grass will die underneath. They are using it in this video so you have a firm base to drive over onto the extra drive section.
So wouldn’t driving over the lawn everyday day eventually kill the lawn?
4:25 is me when i throw out my back building a grass driveway
Grandma Walton worked harder than the gardener 😂
That's a tough old bird
roger is getting old on us
And working hard, did you see his hands?
She is old and very quick and very fast, yeah baby, that ‘s the great woman! Hahaha
That lady works harder than i ever have
On relatively flat ground I don’t see why putting yet more plastic in the ground is needed. Why not use larger gravel in place of the grid? Back in the day our farm roads were accidentally like that. Grass eventually invaded the gravel and you had a nice grassy lane to drive on with solid gravel base.
When you worry he'll make her work and she puts most of us to shame.
Whats the point of that? Why not stick with the stones?
I was definitely expecting a different look.
will the grass start to die after you drive over it for a few months
Not really, but evenutally once it is all settled in and has taken root, you will sort of see the normal path of the tires over the honey combs....if that makes any sense...
Grass driveway? Whatta heck is that ? Never seen that in my life !?
Veroniciany Veronica She is my grandma lol no joke we are related................ she never stops send help!!!!!! And it’s not fully grass
How is the sod, inches above the pavers protected from traffic?!?
Leaving out the construction cloth will let the soil rinse down into the gravel layer, destabilizing the pavers.
. I expected the paver cups to extend above the soil surface an inch or two, to protect the grass from being crushed by the tires. I suspect he did not read the instructions. Even then, I would expect that enough soil will form in the cups each year to fill them up, forcing the grass stems to start higher, and then up to where the tires will kill them, forming 2 dirt ruts in the grass.
Great program. However, I’m not a fan of a “grass driveway” as consistently driving over the same area will kill the grass. Just gravel the area and he done with it.
I think he did not read the instructions.
Won't the grass die
Never even gave her a water break 😮
Get em granny
Lucky you American. In NZ, our lawn is so Muddy. It's so f hard to dig it or scrape it to even level. Using machine is the norm, and thus cost you a leg.
Spunky old lady. 👍
I do not understand why she wouldn't just extend her gravel driveway to the road.. what is the point of this?
good thing they removed that gravel before putting down gravel.
were can I buy the grid system at?
john meyer ~ Google the phrase Grass Pavers. There are other vids here on YT as well.
Nice lawn and she has beautiful muscles too
There's a tendency in these TOS and Ask TOH videos to rush the end, which is a shame as we'd like to see more of the final look.
I honestly thought this was a driveway project using drive-able pavers and grass on either side of the pavers.
Man I hope the snowplow doesn't come through next winter and peel that all up.
This would be nice in California, they are trying to make thee place look more green and people are wanting to park their cars, so why not both eh?
But why have only party of your driveway made of grass??
Big yellow mockkk
parking on grass is illegal in most American cities
What is there to dislike about this I'm really wondering
One born every minute
I wonder what is the cost is there any drawbacks. is there any other facts to know?
+janet gray grass can catch on fire when you park on it
tiehut good point, thank you.
Pests can also find their way into your car. Fire ants in your car would be no fun at all. The grass will die in places (where you track and under the tires).
To me, it ain’t worth the headache. Just pay for a proper concrete or asphalt with sloping and be done with it.
I'm gonna dump it your gonna spread it sounds fair
That’s a very capable woman right there
I made it to 1:43 until I had to look at the comments and see if everyone was thinking what I was
Hi
"How's it look?". All you can see is the GMC truck. This old house is getting that GMC money.
I don’t get it. Why would you do that?
Grid tiles or brick runners look better.
Update: Murder hornets find a new nest, murders family.
Who would want a grass driveway?
MC Ruff There are many differnt reasons. Some do want want to lose precious greenery in a small front yard...they may not have the option of a drveway AND a lawn, some need it for traction, some want a unique DIY driveway that does not invovle masonry, etc..etc...
I just dont get it...
SUPERWOMAN 👵
The lady looks like she's a better shape than the guy was. She had some energy for her age. Not much arthritis. LOL
And they got the whole project done in 5:19 seconds.
Nice. Now you can pok ya cah on the grass.
Wonder Woman in her later years😮
Sand, not gravel
very strong woman
I don't have a driveway
Why are the stones and grasses being removed by hand? Hardest working woman . . .
Too bad my HOA would send me a letter for parking in my grass
Sweet a grass driveway...um...but why?
Beautiful woman
