- Riding a brand new 2023 BMW S1000XR in a rainstorm is most likely the dumbest thing I have done so far. Bringing back the press fleet bmw s1000xr to change it for the BMW GS Adventure Trophy as the new 2024 BMW GS is coming soon and I wanted to take the current model out for a ride so I can do a good review between the new and old bmw gs when it's out.

I feel ya on the peace and simplicity of living off the grid with no power or running water. I’ve got a house in town but built a tiny house out in the middle of the woods with only solar power and some animals and I prefer that much more for the reasons you mentioned.

That's amazing that you prefer to do something you love and make more or less money, than to be working something that you hate for 8 hours a day where you can make more money. That's what's called a true passion.
Great content Smokey. Currently riding a 2020 Tiger 900 GT. Have over 11,000 miles and has been a fantastic do it all bike with zero issues. Will be moving to something bigger and shaft driven next year for some long distance traveling. Most likely be the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer or a GS, but been very curious about the new Moto Guzzi Mandello. Would like to see some content on that one if you can. I think it’s a beautiful unique looking motorcycle.
Great content as always...should get a brand new F900GS Adventure and do a video on it... looking fwd to see differences on 850GSA as now is 900cc with 105HP...

Always nice to hear your optimistic voice, even in pouring rain. In my garage I have Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 890 ADV R; KTM 890 SMT; Royal Enfield Himalayan. Tried many bikes but so far those are the best ones - each in own segment. Thinking about getting Husqvarna 701... Could be interesting to see you testing Moto Guzzi V85 TT and V100 Mandello. They both look like quite interesting bikes.

If you check out couple video's back , Biker festival day 1 I was riding a Ducati Multistrada V2 on the legendary track of Spa 😁. Long story short it's to slow for me 🙈
how did you set up your navigation to show on the TFT screen?
As i use my xr for my ride to work, Limburg to A´twerp- Mechelen-Brussels area, i lanesplit 50 to 70 kms a day.
For that i equipped the xr with denali d2s on the cambus, so the indicators alternate with the leds.
Especialy in the dark, the alternating leds bounce of the rear of a lot of cars in front of my, grabbing a lot of attention.

In case of traffic jams during rush hour, I simply drive at 50, 60 km/h on the emergency lane 🤷♂My life is more important than stupid rules. F650CS, 4 flashing lights 👍
Time to see what Smokey has been up to, I have hazard warning lights on my GSA ofcourse. Everyone is waiting for the 1300 GS that's so hot right now. Riding in wet weather sucks, but it makes you a better rider I feel. Have you tested the Triumph Tiger 1200? need to search that . Take care buddy, safe travels

Smokey zou je aub de CE 04 eens kunnen lenen bij Louyet? Brussel wordt heel lastig met "old fashioned" verbrandingsmotoren binnen een paar jaar. De Gs en de 1290 zijn heel leuk voor in het weekend en voor lange afstanden, maar...

Agree it's not very popular but I might take one out for a ride in the future. As for now I'm trying to pay my bills with this channel in the future. If I keep picking up motorcycles that not many people are interested I'm gonna go broke 😅. Picking them up and bringing them back costs time and money. Will see what I do with that 😁

Took the 890SMT out for a ride couple weeks ago. Good fun bike , very playful but coming from the big 1290 engines it's a bit to slow for me in lower rpm's 😌

literally just on a smoke fest this morning . That is the gs I have at the moment . I don’t think bmw need to bother about the sa or the multistrada with the gs as they have the xr to do that. The GS is like a comfy pair of slippers but I always just want that little drop more. For off-road I would say the ktm is at the top of the tree where as on road the xr imo takes it but overall for long days pillion riding etc the gs is arguably really really good at them all so for me at the time (i am on my second gs with 20k miles) it was a great choice.
Been riding that trophy for a week and the suspension in road is soooo soft and comfy. Feels like riding a Cadillac 😁👌

I would like to watch a video of your impressions about those bikes and I’m not sure but since I’ve been following the channel I never watched a video about Triumph’s , maybe you already tested their big trail the Tiger 1200 but for sure, it was a while ago. I also had the BMW S1000 XR with the M pack and I trade it for a brand new GSA Rally. That’s a long story but it is related to my plans to do some more off-road trails or mixed rides terrains when I m traveling and the XR was limiting on that kind of road planning, so I decided to swap but it costed a lot because the S 1000 XR is a gentle beast and at the time I was still a lot in love with the bike. It wasn’t a mistake though. It was my fast bike and I miss it.
