sometimes I fantasise about this a lot, what if for real we gatekept the gaming world to a certain degree that not only the consumer is almost all guys but also the devs? the complications are multiple, for starter what about politic environment affecting also the male devs(wich is obviosly also what is happening rn )? What If the politic view of the devs and morals even if they're all males would in that case change like it is today what good the gatekeep did? I miss the days when people were able to speak their mind like this, instead of censoring their self and using words like "pew pew" instead of "gun,kill or murder."
The problem is that platforms like youtube and tiktok are censoring or demonitizing videos that have these words in the first minute or if they are used excessively.
So some creators got around it by replacing words like kill with unalive and guns with pew pew.
Then of course the children being raised on iPads start using those words unironically because they think it's their favourite creator being cool and creative.
