Thanks for the rundown.
Advice: skip the lapel mic and get some directional. An audio professional could definitely bump the sound quality from B-tier to S-tier.
B tier is a generous rating. Seriously why has this channel always had such bad audio? It has kept me away from any paid content.
@@JestaultSteinkeKachuik honestly same. The echo is borderline distracting. Audio is the FIRST thing any channel should work on mechanically
For the Necrons and the blame comments. If its in reference to Josh Robert's I actually heard on the grapevine it was the opposite. That he told GW they needed to touch crons on release. They didn't listen and so to prove a point he built a crons list and dominated to show them they were wrong to not nerf them originally.
So I’ve been hobby hopping the last 7 years since I’ve got clean off illicit opiates and I’ve went through Lego, Comics, Video Games, etc. I still enjoy all of it but holy cow ever since I listened to Kyle from PKA podcast quick recap of the 40K story and timeline and I started watching lore channels like WesHammer and Adeptus Ridiculous then finally pulling the trigger on the current Introductory set, building and painting it up….ive been HOOKED. I just finished up putting together a Redemptor Dreadnought (didn’t get him posed exactly how I wanted but it will suffice for a noob) and am planning out the rest of my first 1000 points army. Once I have a combat patrol I’ll start playing. Hell even if I don’t end up liking the game I’ll continue building the coolest models and and painting (hopefully with improvement) them up for display. I’m as old as Games Workshop and kinda always knew 40K was a thing but I guess I didn’t look into it hard enough to realize how freaking cool all this stuff is. This truly is the final boss of hobbies. The Emperor Protects.

I know a lot of people want points increase for meganobz but the problem is the Bully Boyz detachment. If you limit their feel no pain to just the first Waaaagh call and not eligible for the second then they are fine.
Thanks for the review guys. I think Inner Circle Companions attached to Azrael are wildly better than blade guard. He solves their 4++ problem, they get sustained and lethal with plus one to hit (against most of their preferred targets), +1 strength and S6 is an important break point with Orks, Terminators and Custodes around, and minus one to be hit. In Gladius with the +1 to wound and +1AP strat in assault doctrine they hit really hard and are OC2 as the cherry on top.
The Vindicator Rush has begun. Out of stock at GW NA. Grab those HH Vindicators and kitbash up your chaos vindicators :)
I will always play Black Templars as Righteous Crusaders, anything else feels wrong.
Why does GW hate the Deathwatch so much? Bottom of the barrel army that hasn't been touched the last 3 Data Slates. Makes me so sad.
Cause this is not a dataslate
No no no. They DID change deathwatch in last metawaches. We seen nerfs in every one of them. They just dont care about army just like in 9th edition
there are rumours that both deathwatch and demons will be deleted at some point this edition.
Because nobody plays the faction...
So, the Canoptek Court list has become 3x6 Wraiths, 3 Technomancers, 3 Doomstalkers, 3x3 Scarab Swarms, and then likely 3x3 Acanthrites and a Transcendant. Just spamming the best units
Exact opposite of what I was hoping for as a necron player. Was hoping to be able to run bricks of battle line infantry instead of all tanky stuff that just stands there doing nothing but being durable but oh well. Maybe in another 3 months
@@tmf123 my best friend feels the same way. He owned the wraiths and doomstalkers already because he liked the models, and is super sad that they are the only way to play competitively now
Necrons need some internal balance. There’s like 10 good data sheets and that’s it. It makes list building so boring. I also play deathguard and I can swap so many things in and have so many different ways to play, I want that for every faction.
My competitive Hypercrypt list went up 75 points overall, not a huge nerf tbh. was shocked by ctan small nerf.
Wraiths when played in Canoptek Court with a Technomancer is really good as far as being a stone wall.
In my experience they struggle to kill other tough units and once the Technomancer is removed they don't last nearly as long.
Another very similar unit is the Bullgryns, who has the same toughness, the same Invul save and may only be 3 wounds but has that -1 damage, and a built in 6+ feel no pain.
Should Bullgryns then also go up in points values to match, as they provide the same style of unit that Wraiths do? They lack in movement and don't get pistols, but have a better WS and S on the maul than Wraith claws.
Have you tested playing Wraiths without the support before deciding where the points changes should go?
Agree with everything you said, wraiths alone can absolutely be dealt with, but the technomancer makes them great, and that’s what took a nerf, why nerf wraiths when their base profile isn’t the issue.
As a possible fix for vanilla marines what about one of these options.
option A) Give Codex marines old oath of moment and divergent chapters get the current version.
option B) Keep Oath as it is but Codex marines get to pick a target at the start of the shooting phase and a different target at the start of the fight phase?
Oof. My poor deathwatch. Does look like something is happening for them because they have been so neglected. The Dark Angels and Custodes stuff has not given me a lot of hope for their design space on divergent marines lately. Though on the other hand, grey knights show that they can do something about it if they put their mind to it. We will see but, it makes me reluctant to buy or convert too much more for them until I see what that "redacted" release is in the pipeline.
Yeah, I was almost onboard with the Ironing list to start my DA army but my disposable income isn't high enough to start my 1st army in such a fashion so Orks it is
Why cant they make more rule changes? It worked so well for DG and Drukhari. There was no need to cut that many rules from 9th to 10th
GW did an amazing thing when they boosted the price for inq henchmen, death cult assasins and crusaders. Or rather they increased the price for tiny MSY style units.
So you can still take 10 inq henchmen (which werent strong) and not be punished by the points hike
Recently I put together a gladius list to try and test out some of the new Dark Angels datasheets (I've been doing a crusade with World Eaters for most of the year so far and haven't gotten much of a chance to play with my DA since the codex released), idea being that I have some DA-unique stuff to try out for fun (6 companions with azrael, 5 knights) and some powerful other units to do most of the heavy-lifting (land raiders, eradicators with a fire discipline apothecary, etc). Funny enough the companions and the knights ended up doing far better than I was expecting, so seeing the MFM points update today with both getting substantial points decreases (and azrael being untouched) made me happy :)
I love that they listed Caul, the Lion and Vashtor. The three I have lol
SM should have 6 detachments for divergents where they gain access to 3 generics plus 3 chapter specific and that would equalize somewhat
I agree. Maybe none of the divergent chapters get the Gladius (because that's the codex detachment). and then you restrict some fluffy detachments (Dark Angels don't get stormlance because they have deathwing and Black Templars don't get Anvil, because they're not cowards)
Deathwatch rolled up into the “new” Inquisition army?
Might as well, they are just bad marines right now, sad gw refuses to balance them
5 months wasn't enough time to figure out some rules changes for Admech? What a joke. Here's an idea, make the army rule effect the entire army. Seems like a pretty easy win.
Stop crying. Go play checkers, it has an established meta.
@@rileylewis2853 such a pathetic GW apologist.
@@rileylewis2853maybe stop being an arse
The worst part is that, in a metawatch video a couple of months ago, GW clearly said AdMech units themselves needed revamping. It's a constant carrot on a stick to keep stringing us along.
@@rileylewis2853 oh boo hoo the guy defending a billion dollar company doesn't like the opinion of someone who isn't happy with the state of the game. I'm curious, what over powered, over represented faction do you play?
Hey there, thanks for the video.
As we are stuck fighting Necrons as is till July, could you guys do a video on how to beat them? Especially Canoptek.
Blade Champ actually went down by 10, to point out the smallest of silver linings
John with the Green Bay cup is my new favorite 😁
The whole 'nid discord is wondering what we did to piss GW off this much. We're all expecting lower win rates, and we're already the lowest win rate army in the meta.
We took Oghram, and now we must pay for the entire 10'th Edition... 😢
Hell yeah Richard! Love that passion for AdMech! We’ll get there!!
My Tyranids literally have dust on them. The issue is not so much points. low strength weapons can't do shit against high toughness targets. 9 strength weapons vs 12 toughness armor over and over. Unless the person has no idea what they are doing or the other player is running a meme list, you should almost never win with Tyranids these days. Can cut all the units by 30% points and issue still stands.
This story will perfectly encapsulate our play style
Crusade game vs blood angels
I won 60-55
I scored 0 on round 5 and he scored 20
I had just a hiding winged hive tyrant left
He had jump capt with 5 sang guard, vindicator, 1 heavy intercessor
I outscored by covering the objectives and he slowly killed everything
The ONLY thing i killed was a 6 outriders with chaplain because i targeted everything against them
Nids are very fluffy right now, and the armies and playstyles are playing how historically they've needed to. Plus historically have very little outside getting very lucky to deal with vehicles, 8/9e being bounded caused more problems by making Nids seem able to handle vehicles
Nids in 7th and before were able to deal with vehicles with str 10 warp blasts (from any psyker) and rupture cannon and venom cannons were str 9 - same as lascannons.
This is honestly the first edition I've ever played where a rhino can drive directly into your ranks and no one can hurt it consistently.
I had a game where the Marine player drove his Rhino into my hive Tyrant and I just didn't roll hot enough to kill it. He neutralized my Tyrant with a metal box.
My Swarmlord died to 2 Kastellan Robots - the Kastellans hit at str 12, Swarmy hits at str 9 AP 2 - didn't even put them on their invul.
It seems like every game I have, I have a scenario where I have resources that play slap hands with things that smash them. Why aren't any of our monsters on par with a greater demon?
"Wraiths did not change at all" except for the character that makes them good at all got a points increase?
I really hope they don’t up doomstalker in points considering he’s already questionable to run in any other detachment, I just want to have my tower boy
Agree doomstalker doesn’t need a nerf
Why release a codex in this state to simply change it later (custodes and ad mech)
Laziness, incompetence, no playtesting, GW in a nutshell!
It sounds ridiculous right? But they get designed a year in advance and get printed far before the release of the codex
@@ForceM1782 And
"First time?" -Dark Angels
@@RW-Navigator Which proves 2 of my 3 points.
Honestly I think admech has reached the point that they're scared to make the good stuff any cheaper because no one will have enough models to play them
ive started playing 1500 point games tbh feels a lot better if you can get opponents happy to play that way
A buff for the lion! If only he had his old rules.
The pts changes on Admech are a stalling tactic.
Time to convert my Deathwatch Corvus Blackstars into Ork ScrapJets
I really loved the idea of an elite Kasrkin list for Astra. Now the idea is gone.
Cyberwolf is still 20pts baby!
I’m looking forward to bringing my dusty boys back on the table and trying more than just rubric MSU hoping Magnus can do it all
if 10th tought us something, is that GW managers play Eldar
I think for SM if you take a chapter specific unit then that forces you to use that chapters Index/Codex. Yes this means that Space Wolves couldn’t use the SM detachments… just like every other faction can only use their own factions detachments.
Give the other chapters love. Give us a unit only we get access to like a breather squad for IF and Gorgon terminators for IH etc. the UM have gotten love for 2 editions
Having Hearthkyn Warriors at 100 while Legionnaires are what they are just makes me sad.
Deathwatch kick into oblivion.... that 40k ....
Bet they r getting folded into agents of the imperium
How can anyone see vanquisher as bad, hits on 2s, rerolls, and 1s . Rerolls wounds at S18 ap 4 (upto ap 7) damage 6+1d6.
Lethal when stationary.
Because it's one shot into a world with invuls
LETS GO BOYZ
Divergent chapters really just shouldn't be able to run codex SM detachments. Yes they only get one detachment, but they get special unique units that are often better than the codex equivalents. That's the tradeoff.
There's this weird double standard where marine players will complain that they are playing one codex and can't use the rules from another, meanwhile standalone xenos armies like Votann or Orks are in the same situation and can't pull from several different sources to optimize their lists.
Same argument goes for stuff like henchmen. Why is it that we don't bat an eye that imperium armies can pull from 4 different sources of extra units to optimize to the point that they become ubiquitous and then sympathize with them when those units go up in pts. I'm sorry if knights don't have the best winrate at the moment, but the answer isn't to shore up their scoring ability with units from other indexes
Maybe just gladius, to have a basic generalist detachment.
Didnt see SM winning as often as hypercrypt or eldars tho (except templars).
So no, SM arent too strong and shouldnt be nerfed in any way or form.
But I can agree that basic tacticals should be good enough to take them instead of henchmen..
Well, it isn't the worst thing I've ever read, but it's not good either. Not enough on a lot of factions that needed more help (like Nids and dear god ... deathwatch). Admech is laughable and will be dead for another 3 months, but there's a slight chance it'll get better then. At the current pace we may see significant improvements to dead/awful detachments more than a year after they've been released (or more likely ... 1.5 to 2 years, if ever). What a joke GW is when it comes to addressing design issues (and I absolutely blame GW over the rules team for this, because frankly I think the rules team is probably understaffed and bound to a release schedule and factors not decided by them).
I also can't understate how stupid it is that we STILL have to wait for Tau points after the initial codex has been out for nearly a month. Absolute bulls*** ... nothing better I could call it and frankly I think is probably a bit too nice still.
Divergent chapters should not be able to use unique units in base codex detachments. And oath should reroll wounds or hits. Also termies need to be cheaper still. Hopefully Blightlords will get a buff next dataslate
Thats the same as just saying divergent chapters shouls just use their own specific detachments.
DIvergent chapters are still space marines chapter. IMO, there should be "basic detachements" available to all chapters, probably Gladius and 1s Company. Other Detachments should be specialized, and divergent Chapters would have to use their own Specialized Detachments found in their specific Codex/Index.
@@jpwyrm yeah give divergent gladius +3 special
Necrons situation is pretty questionable, they got away lightly
What a yoke.
In other news, Custodes codex still sucks balls
No changes for demons. Joke
Oh man, I love that generic space marines are performing horribly but GW still has to nerf them because of the sins of the divergent chapters.
It’s almost like the divergent chapters are parasites and shouldn’t exist :)
John really moves on with his life a lot, eh?
Its 3 hours long timestamp it.
It's almost like Knights as a faction are impossible to balance and should just be removed from the game
This MFM is "meh" at best if you're an Ad Mech or Space Marines player.
Not even a meh, it was a "are you kidding me?"
@@Leviathan1494 what can I say... I'm an optimist!
@@StrandsOfFate so was I at the beginning of 10th lol
Doomstalkers were bad for so long. I'd say wraiths should have had more points increase. That being said I am not buying another doomstalker to get 3 and not buying any wraiths at $30 a model. Or $540 to get 3 units if em.
Guard are dead now. They had one (1) viable list build and now it's gone.
Said Guard every balance sheet haha
And they were right with a 45% winrate over the last 12 weeks!
Shadow specters went up 10 and phoenix gem went up 10, pretty painful there. Shadows should have only gone up 5 if anything
GW is very big on making sure FW stuff isn't must-take, which I guess makes sense, it makes the army harder to collect
Also shadow spectres were too good. This way you still take 1 unit for tech but spamming them isn't great
@@EverydayEldrad were they spammed? Maybe just my experience but they only seemed to do well against chaff, they shred guardsmen. Against anything else they seemed to only kill like one or two space marines for example. They are pretty safe but 105 pts just puts them near warp spiders and even greater disparity from hawks.
I don’t see how you think necrons will still be on top, no way
They think that because they understand the game better than you do.
@@Sparkyinbozo-xe9fn like when they claimed orks would be s tier after the last update? Or when they said Gladius was the best and only way to play spacewolves? Doesn’t seem like they know any better than a random person throwing stuff at the wall. Time will tell though
I whole heartily disagree 100% on everything you all just said on Necrons.
My necron list went up 155 points and you think that isn’t enough?
A lot of armies performing as well as necrons were averaging 300-600pts nerf swings, 155 aint much in context
No, not enough. Necrons are still no skill stat checks and deadly in expert hands
@@EverydayEldrad I highly doubt they will be a or b tier anymore but time will tell. I don’t think there’s any way they will be in first still like these people claim. This channel has a pretty bad track record when it comes to predicting win rates
@@tmf123curious why you think that? It seems only C'tan and a few characters got hit. Seems to me that Necrons still have very viable competitive choices.
@@jtaylor476 because ctan and a few characters were the reason they’ve been winning
No idea how Ilyou say tsons is best army in the game. Lol when there win / is not even close to top. They need major help. Never seen them win a gt. There not even close to eldar lvls or necrons
wraiths stayed the same. That's me out of competitive tournaments till the next patch. Depressing to fight vs 18, Thanks for the video upload, some good changes some missed opportunities
Um, yeah? Of course Wraiths stayed the same lmao. The Technomancer was the problem, not the Wraiths
Wraiths aren’t nearly as good without the technomancer, which got an over 41% increase..
@tmf123 They're still really good without technomancers, I'm not sure what you're talking about lol
@@KhanTotalGaming99they seem to think otherwise.
@@KhanTotalGaming99 I said “aren’t nearly as good”, not that they aren’t good at all. Likely still playable without it but won’t be nearly as tough to deal with
Just curious. Are you two guys "just" sober or do either of you happen to identify as straight edge?
