Jet Found 53 Years After Disappearance

- Fifty-three years ago a plane disappeared in Vermont, not to be seen again. Until now. On a snowy night in January of 1971, a small corporate jet carrying five people mysteriously vanished. It never arrived at its destination, Providence, Rhode Island. Dozens of searches ensued, but the plane and its passengers and crew were never spotted. Experts now believe theyve found the wreckage of the long-lost jet at the bottom of Lake Champlain.
We’re gonna see a news report like this 20-30 years down the line for that Malaysia flight :/
Probably.
Doubt it. This lake isn't small but it's in no comparison to ocean.
@@betternbrown that was put there on purpose lmao
Don't you realize how big the ocean is?
Someday...
53 years is crazy
I know right
Like imagine surviving for years but you die before they find you.
@@CRYCITIZED yeah that’s sad
On god fr
I also wonder if souls in heaven does exist why took 53 years to let the left ones to know whereabouts.
The amount of things to be found in the waters around the world is probably mind blowing
If aliens did exist, I bet our best evidence is down at the bottom of the ocean, getting covered in silt and debris.
I could see it.
Lost civilizations from long ago when ocean levels were lower is one thing that comes to mind. Sadly, it's probably buried under layers and layers of sediment.
we have only discovered 5% of the ocean
All manmade stuff. Trash, valuables or places. Or bones.

Me thinking 53 years ago was the 1950s
Lol.
1974 was 50 years ago.......

Not to good at mathing today eh?
@@laurie2355 no it’s more about struggling to believe in how fast time has gone. I’m aware it’s the 70s, I’m just not used to it being that recent
I can’t imagine how much is sitting hidden at the bottom of our oceans
A ton of stuff. We exploring space when we haven’t even explored our oceans yet
We know there is alot at the bottom of the ocean, we just don't know where it is...
The planes in a lake, but yeah.
Warships, merchant vessels, just think of it...
It took 70 years to find the Titanic..
At least they know. A lot of people don't understand that closure is important even if it is painful.
53 years? Yeah I guess.
That's actually pretty cool that it took so long to find and could be the jet, but kind of scary that a jet just mysteriously disappeared from 1971 and wasn't found until now.
Pretty cool?

@@doggy121466 LAKE VS OCEAN, GOOD LUCK.
yeah, the ocean is a huge place
I'm very happy and sympathetic to the families of those lost on this flight. 53yrs is a lifetime to have no closure. I hope they can find peace and comfort from this discovery, and rest in peace to those that were lost ❤
Bro your comment deserves more likes like no cap
Lots of their family members probably died never knowing what exactly happened to them. The son is probably in his 60s by now so at best his mother is in her 80s but there’s a good chance she already passed away. Would have spent the rest of their lives wondering what happened to them and never found out.
imagine being in ATC and seeing a plane vanish from the radar…
They train for that situation
“Uh guys… I think the radar is on the fritz again”
@@Kyle_Lurz well all you can do is report it
And cant find a ✈️
Sir it disappeared on that exact area.
50 years later. Wow we just found it.

Now find that Malaysia flight 😎😎
impossible
It's buried under the sand and silk in the ocean. Ain't gonna find it
Go look for it.
It's probably very, VERY deep in the Indian ocean
@@NoOneHere2Day on my way
I can’t believe they found a private jet after it went missing 53 years ago and yet we STILL haven’t found the missing Malaysian airlines flight 370
Have you considered that an ocean is a lot larger and deeper than a lake?
Isn’t mh370 somewhere in the Indian or southern ocean? Just by using some common sense it’s a lot harder to search those compared to a little lake in Vermont
It’s really hard to find an airliner that has almost no communication with the tower
maybe we should sign you up to find the wreck Aden. You can make history by being the first person to ever pilot the Titan MK2 submarine to find Malaysian flight 370!
My dude, the Malaysia plane vanished OVER THE OPEN OCEAN.
That's sad 53 years ago that's alot
happy the family finally has closer may the victims rest in peace
Glad it’s found

Wood has mostly rotted away I'm guessing
they already did about two years ago, well just her bones along with her friend Fred on some small island.
Already found. They found a wrecked plane in the middle of an Atoll in the Pacific with two sets of bones inside, a female and a male. Further forensic analysis confirmed the identities of Amelia and her friend
She was eaten by coconut crabs
53 years must've been tough for the families
They had their money to dry their tears, don't worry.
@@chumblesthecheese8580I mean, not wrong. Not to mention many of them have passed or too young to remember
That Malaysia flight needs another 20+ years I guess
Well the titanic sank a century ago and thats in the atlantic where its more frequented than the entire indian ocean and took many decades to locate it so for mh370 maybe wait another century or we wont be able to find it

How awful to wait and not know what happened to your family for decades? SAD
Wow! Absolutely amazing! Bravo for reporting this! 👏 🏆👍
poor frank seems really upset and lost for words, I can tell he really loved his dad.
Underwater finds like these always weird me out but at the same time I’m glad for the closure
If it’s only in a lake, how on earth did it take 50+ years for it to resurface, and how was it discovered?
Lake Champlain is very large
After a while they gave up and found it by accident I assume
@yuhboris304 what gets me is it crashed next to an island with light houses an what not on it. I still don't know how people didn't notice it
Let’s wait 43 years for mh370 to be found
Condolences to their friends and families. It has been a difficult journey for many.
Not surprised it took this long the Titanic sank in 1912 but was only found in 1985 and they knew the location of where it sank but ocean current sent it far from disaster location that's a very big ship, Hopefully someday they find Flight Malaysia and get some answers to what really happened
I feel bad for the families that never get to see them again..
Not me about to comment “do you mean 1961?” Because my denial was not allowing me to process that 53 years ago happened in the same decade I was born.😅 🤪🤣🙃
Glad to be back!!!
Wow that’s crazy
wow, CLOSURE, hopefully, and history, thank you! 🌟👍
Im glad to live in an era where technology evolved so greatly that it helps us out in lots of different ways.
Sad to know Malaysia plane will never be found. The ocean is too deep. And no humans can go down to see if there is anything left. Unless someone put a message in a wine bottle before they die on the Malaysia flight, everything will perish in the ocean.
i don't think a wine bottle would survive a plane crash... a metal container would be more likely..
"Never be found?" There was a WWII ship found that was about 2x as deep as the Titanic. Of course the Malaysia plane *could* be found, but it's far from a top priority.
@@101Volts WHICH IS WHY I SAID, WILL NEVER BE FOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@101Volts There was a merchant vessel from 400 a.c. that was found at the bottom of the ocean. It is the older man made "object" to have ever been found underwater.
Scary!
The families of the deceased would never see their loved ones again but they will all have closure and move on without any doubt
I suggested search the lake decades ago.
It was searched, many times.
Guys its not mh370 its a private jet that had 5 passengers and went missing in vermont
Yea, we watched the first 15 seconds of the vid
I hope they’ll get well soon 😢
It's the worst part when your family members goes missing the really awful part years later when you find out what happened to them😮
This gives me hope that Malaysian Airline 370 will be found one day. RIP those who lost their lives on both ill fated flights.
Wow, imagine that!
damn, cool

May they Rest In Peace Amen ✝️✝️✝️
It's back!!
I honestly thought this was that missing Malaysian flight for a second, but I truly feel for the passengers and crew lost in the accident.
May they rest in peace now.
Could have put maps on the start/end location of the plane, where it was last pinged, and where it got found.
This is crazy
One thing that "adventures with purpose" has teached us is that a car can virtually disappear in a much shallower body of water and not be found for years, it's not surprising that it would take this long to find a plane in such a deep lake, and you can tell that it's very deep by the water looking pitch black, there's no sunlight penetrating that deep, unless it was night time, which I doubt it
Damn I'm only 38 😮
On my gosh
I live in Vermont, and I had no clue that happened.
All the missing flights usually end up in places like this
Lake Champlain has the lake monster Champ
😢Still sorry for your loss 😢
This is insane.
Closure, at least a little bit🙏🏻💐
Also Earlier this yr someone believed they might had located Amelia Earhart’s plane in the south Pacific after using an underwater drone. They plan to scour the area again in the coming Fall
So what did they find inside!
0:55 heard kinda the same fantasy from another guy who lost their friend in another plane crash. Their friend was actually the co pilot of the plane that ended up going down off the coast of peru, south america. Sadly there were no survivor's.
Man, that thing was MANGLED by the crash, hope it was "over" quick for the passengers at least.
See it wasn't in some galaxy 75 billion light years away ! Nothing is!
We still can't find Malaysian Airlines too... 😢
53 years is quite a long time
Imagine if they found some survivors down there....???❓❓❓😬✈️

so it took...........53 years to unfreeze??
I think they mean it was frozen at the time and it became overlooked during the original search.
