For someone who doesn't know what they're doing, I'd say you're faring better than most 😅 Waking up early to study before work is a smart move. We love toasty scrubs 😁You're so deserving of all the compliments, Tae! Hope you enjoyed the weekend off. Well done for a productive two weeks! 💪🏽

Congratulations on making it to your 3rd year. I know about the grueling curriculum from a summer of taking anatomy and physiology with CU Medical Students in the Denver Health Sciences Center. The amount of memorization in that "illustrative" Netters book is just insane - e.g. "The Circle of Willis" pathways. The lab portions were grueling as well. So, I saw a snippet of medical school courses and respect the rigor of effort and time. As for me, I had considered medical school but decided not to go. I was interested in research. I figured out in the MPH program that primary care is most efficient and economical. But many medical students go for "EROAD" specialties. I also experienced racism in the medical school - (1) subtle and (2) colorism. I also witnessed the bullying hierarchy: 1st year < 2nd year < ... < 1st year resident < ... < chief resident < board certified physician < HMO or malpractice attorney, etc. There was an MD/PhD board certified instructor who spoke to every first year medical school student as if he or she were a HS dropout. I am Apache Indian who is full-blooded and can still speak the indigenous language. Many such languages have gone extinct - especially in CA. But the medical school "diversity" office did not have anything positive to say about that. They preferred light-skinned, mixed "Native Americans" who identified as white and spoke only English - not the full-blooded Apaches, Navajos or Zunis from the reservations. The colorism was disappointing. Now that there is a pandemic,, I am glad I never went though. The healthcare system is very unfair in many ways - minorities or not. I admire the courage in pursuing that career. My path went into data science and biomedical engineering. I am now a PhD student at ASU. Best wishes on your studies. If you want a comedy break - see the CZcams for "s**t that medical students say" by two female medical students at Johns Hopkins. It is hilarious.

Hey, I am whatching your videos from Austria and I am loving it.
But one question: your way from your place to the hospital seems not too far? Never thought about going by bike, not car? I just want to understand, no front :-)))

Hi! I talked about this a little in a different comment, but I leave so early in the morning now that it would be dark when I would need to start walking. I'd have to take some kinda sketchy backstreets to get there which I don't feel comfortable with, so I choose to drive!

carrying my notebook, pocket sheet with info on antibiotics, fluid resuscitation, etc., my reflex hammer, pen light, eye chart, pens, lip balm, sometimes my stethoscope, and my clip on night light if i’m seeing patients super early!
