Must admit, I really like the looks of the 2-Series. A lot of new cars seem to be competing to be even more ugly and repulsive to look at, but that gen of 2-Series has that perfect mix of aggressive yet understated styling. And a 7s 0-60 is quick enough to have fun, it's frugal enough to be able to afford to have fun with. And to me, a good Dad Car is one that will be cooler than 80% of cars that come to pick up the kids at the end of the school day, and I think that 220d will do. And you can through 3 kids in car seats into it. Stylish, fun enough, practical and cool. Perfect.
I agree completely agree, hey the engine that fits your annual milage and budget 👍
Great video. The girls were brilliant 😂
I love f series design. It’s seems so sharp and aggressive ❤
Just become one of my fav channels. As a dad of 5 and two around the same age as the your two oldest this is brilliant. Currently looking at a new whip and torn between 2 series / 4 series (we have an suv too) and a range rover sport. Loved this well done mate
Welcome Jay! 5!!! Well done 😅 I love the compact size of the 2 series but having 3 rear seats may be handy for someone with so many children 😅
Love ❤ how you matched the car interior 😅
Great review, my next car without a doubt, prices are now affordable and they just look so good, the joke being they're considerably more stylish than the awkward looking new version.
Great video! Aside from higher maintenance and operating costs than I'm used to (carbon ceramic brakes are very expensive), I'm loving my 228i convertible. My friends make fun of me for having a small, "impractical" car. I don't have kids, but now I have proof that it's not that impractical. And, I won't have to sell my fun car if I happen to have kids before the car dies!
Great idea for a channel. Nice video and choice of dad car! On my budget of £5k I went for a 125i coupe with 3.0 NA six cylinder. Does decent mpg and lovely to drive. Very convenient size for daily use. Only issue is boot space for prams and bags if going on longer trips. Would be great to see you review some interesting dad cars for sub £10k for those of us that love driving but have limited car budgets.
I absolutely agree! I have some sub 10k stuff coming I assure you 👏 there are lots of fantastic German stuff out there for very reasonable money,
Great video. Am considering an M235i/M240i and was unsure about the space with forward facing high back booster seats. This showed its definitely possible so they can remain on the shortlist!
Brilliant video. Brilliant review - you've covered off everything that needed covering. I'm looking at getting a BMW 2 series convertible 220d - and like you I'm a Dad, but now with only one kid, the others have their own cars, so no longer need the SUV, with a big boot, just something that will satisfy a nine year old in the back and a couple of small suitcases. And as always something fast enough under the bonnet. Thanks. Really enjoyed your video.
Good review, great family man
@@dadcars no doubt
I’m currently after a m240i but may go for the cab
Great video that's a Dadcar 👍
I look forward to fearing some lower value but equally exciting DadCars soon 👏
Glad I found this channel, this is gold; as a Dad of two boys, the elder just entering his teens, I was searching for an interesting yet livable car on a budget. I myself am not a tall guy so I want to consider a two door coupe. My logic is we all use one door for the home, right ;-)
That’s a solid logic and I’ve got a load of exciting 2 door coupe on the channel! Welcome 🤗
@@dadcars none of them are in my teeny budget but keep at it so your channel continues to grow along with those adorable kids 🍻
@@rgfromkl3594 next weeks video will be in budget for you 🤗 looking forward to getting into the more affordable cars, so much cool stuff out there
Thank you, this is exactly the information I was looking for. Hopefully I can find a manual 240i in the US.
Live In hedge end?
You the high smile man?
Does this car have cruise control, I’ve noticed some of them don’t which is disgraceful should be standard nowadays
I can’t remember to be honest! Yep it does seem a lot of things you’d think would be standard are now options 🙈
Bishops Waltham spotted!!
what are your other two kid’s nicknames? i’d love to call my baby “pickles” one day too 😂
4:13 nice choice
@@dadcars I saw them last month in Thailand, it was great.
Thanks for this sweet F22 review man ♥️
Such a beautifull car and the fuel consumptions are so low.
@@dadcars i think im going to get one 220d but convertible to go to the beach and chilling
Is there a big difference in having a manual and an automatic? or do you just think its ore fun. I'm looking at getting this car but undecided about manual or automatic
Having the option of a manual is a rare and special thing as most modern cars don’t give you that option anymore… if you prefer automatic then go for it 😅 I just love a manual it’s more fun 😎
@@dadcars Thanks for the reply. Ive not driven an automatic yet and this car seems fun like that :)
@@TheMrRokster check out my video on the M3, that was a auto… they are still a lot of fun 😎
You've convinced me that, as a dad, buying a 2018 M2 LCI is a good idea. Thank you! So excited.
Awesome! You won’t regret it! If you want to feature it on the DadCars channel I know a lot of Dads out there would love to see it 😉
an m2 is definitely a familiy car.
M2 is an ideal family car.. my kids love mine. 😂
