    Great second round pick by Packers! He runs with power, speed, agility and toughness, and he will complement Green Bay's backfield very nicely, giving them depth and an increased level of overall quality so that opposing teams will have to respect the run even more now.

      Not really. He doesn't thump guys on hits. He doesn't really run stronger, he's just bigger. Game film shows this far more than dedicated highlights. Williams lowers the shoulder more than Dillon, who more often spins away from contact. It's not bad, but it's not the dynamic shift people seem to think.

      This guy replaces Williams, although I don't see him as an improvement or even all that different in style...he's just bigger, not faster, stronger, smarter, better hands, etc. He's more of a lateral move that only saves a small bit of cap space for a couple years, maybe.

    • @Horible4
      @Horible4 Před 4 lety +5

      I don't think they truly hate the pick. I like this player. They're just confused because they don't know how to react to a pick that wasn't a position of need. The scheme in Green Bay is very different than what we're used to seeing in years past. The Shanahan style of offense relies a lot on plug and play players, running the ball, pre-snap motion, RPOs, versatile guys, the whole bells and whistles to create mismatch problems with the defense. The Packers 2nd and 3rd round picks are not flashy but are going to be used in order to scheme guys open on the offense.
      What a lot of people don't know is that the Packers literally throw to everyone on offense that's not an O-lineman. Jamall Williams is a good 3rd down back and guy to split carries with Aaron Jones, but he's not the guy you want on the field when you absolutely need that first down. That's where AJ Dillon comes in when you need a guaranteed 2-3 yards or just a guy to come in the 4th quarter and punch the defense repeatedly in the mouth and get 4-5 yards a carry because the defense is so exhausted and can put games away for you (a thing the Packers struggled with last season).
      Josiah Deguara I don't think is a reach but rather the versatile player Green Bay is missing to match the style of offense the 49ers run. He's not big enough to be a blocking Tight End, but he's big enough to play fullback (something the Packers are missing after they lost Danny Vitale), so he can come in and lead block for Aaron Jones or AJ Dillon in a power run formation. He can also come out of that backfield and be a nightmare in the passing game (Danny Vitale was the 2nd most targeted fullback in the league last season) because he's a receiving Tight End, and obviously because he's a Tight End he can literally line up ANYWHERE in the formation to screw up coverage assignments on defenses.
      I agree, the Packers probably still need a receiver for depth. But these first two moves are actually not as bad as people are making them out to be. Contrary to popular belief, both these picks make our roster stronger, more versatile, and harder to stop.

      when was the last time GB paid for an rb? Aaron Jones contract is up after this szn and running is a huge part of Lefluers game. Aaron Jones was getting a bunch of yardage without even getting touched because of the run and blocking schemes if you put a 6 foot 250 lb guy back there he's gonna do more damage with a full head of steam than a 5 '9 210 lb guy

    Rogers is pissed he would rather throw then hand off
    The Houston tackle I will believe was still there but this guy is a rare dude little concerned about how much of a beating he took but a lot of those carries there was really no pain being inflicted and I'm sure he dished out a lot of it

      @charliekowalski7163 Před 4 lety +1

      @Henry and Khloe's Channel SQUANCE I dont see the comparison at all. Cory Dillon was a monster. He used to truck guys with power, reminded me a lot of eddie George's style. These guys would make the defenders pay for getting in their paths. Aj dillon was using spins and bouncing it out, eddie george and cory dillon only ran right through the arm tackles. Anyways maybe my judgement is wrong but based off this highlight reel he seems average at best. A lot of those teams he was facing were bad and dont forget were college defenders. Hes gonna find out real fast the NFL is a whole another level of big dudes that can put down a 250lb man with ease.
