It is true art to write a new song that seems to have been written a century ago. This song is a seamless repair in the torn tapestry of our world.

Just tuned into kerry radio and caught the very last 2 lines of this song. I knew straight away id love this song and texted the show for the name of the song and group. So delighted to have discovered a talented talented band playing wonderful songs

    Mariner Boy
Saving my flowers away for you
Though It’s homeward I know I should be
    The Summer has gone
And the birds they have flown
On the winds of the migrating seas
On the winds of the migrating seas

    The captain he asked me
    On a cold winter’s eve
Is it married you’re intending to be?
Is there love at the door
A’waiting at the shore
With a candle and babe on her sleeve
A candle and babe on her sleeve

Yes and then no sir, I did reply
There’s no Bonny lass - waiting for me
If I had but one
I would lay down my folly
And not be gone fishing with thee
And not be gone fishing with thee

Two year ago, there came to the show
A fair maiden courtin’ for me
We had it won
With the ring and the money
But she wallowed in pity of me
She said a mariner boy’s never free

It’s often the day
Sitting up on the waves
That I wish I could then see her face
The dark hair entwined
    Down her magical spine
But I’ll always remember her name
    Always remember her name
