Freeze at 0:39, and you can clearly see Rodman's foot on O'Sullivan's ankle, bending it in a dangerous way. This could have easily broken her leg. So I agree with the red card.
@user-zq5pu9xl4f Which is it? If she put the opponent in danger (dangerous), it's a red card. If it's "careless", it's a simple foul with no card. It can't be both.
@@margigannon1748 Intent has nothing to do with it. Law 12 listed below - Rodman clearly endangrs the safety of the opponent when she comes in from the rear and steps on her ankle. Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.
Reckless play, she has to play smarter then that there was no need for rodman to tackle the defender especially since she had no play on the ball... so in the ref's eye it was a good call for the red card and rodman's ejection.
It’s very clear she slipped and didn’t mean to go at the player’s foot, red card was too much after they did nothing when the same happened to Alex Morgan and hers was even more dangerous.
I haven’t seen Morgan’s but she had no play on the ball. At least a yellow and maybe a red was warranted because that is a career ending type foul. Intent doesn’t matter at that point. Maybe you should run full speed than let someone come behind you and dig in their cleats on your ankle. You’d probably want a red card too.
You're right, she very clearly did slip, after taking her wait off her foot on the ground and putting it on the foot that was then stepping on an ankle, with the movement of the other player causing Rodman to loose balance and slip.
I think we’ve seen worse and there was no card. So it looked like she genuinely slipped and she took o Sullivan leg out so I think a yellow. People keep trashing Rodman, she has been doing with the national team. No comments made O’Sullivans foul on Rodman

Can go either way. That was a dangerous careless play. At this level you don’t do that.
i was at the game, it should've been a yellow it wasn't intentional

@@margigannon1748it was def intentional. it was retaliation and she was nowhere close to getting ball
She wasn’t looking down she just stepped on her feet by accident
Still a red tho

Bullshit

Are you talking about when she decked in the box
I've seen that go either way but she wasn't making a play on the ball.

She slipped after...and because of... stepping on the back of her ankle... get it right. She is trash. No play on the ball.
Getting ejected frequently just like her dad in his pro days.
Yellow all day
Dirty 😆
Not a red card. Stupid and wrong decision.
