- This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Tech entrepreneur and mathematician Charles Hoskinson says Bitcoin-related technology is about to revolutionise property rights, banking, remote education, private law and crowd-funding for the developing world.
Charles Hoskinson is Chief Executive Officer at Thanatos Holdings, Director at The Bitcoin Education Project, and President at the Hoskinson Content Group LLC.
Charles is a Colorado based technology entrepreneur and mathematician. He attended University of Colorado, Boulder to study analytic number theory in graduate school before moving into cryptography and social network theory.
His professional experience includes work with NoSQL and Bigdata using MongoDB and Hadoop for several data mining projects involving crowdsource research and also development of web spiders. He is the author of several white papers on the design and deployment of low bandwidth prolog based semantical web scraping bots as well as analysis of metamorphic computer viruses through a case study on Zmist.
His current projects focus on evangelism and education for Bitcoin and fully homomorphic encryption schemes.

Doing it on CZcams, acceptable. Someone opening the door and trying to sell you something while you take a dump in a public washroom, not acceptable. Granted, extreme case used here, but the fact remains there is a time and place for everything. TED is not it.

@@MrM0NKEYZER0 I'm not sure if there's a minimum, but I started staking once I had 1,000. Depending on your pool you can get around 0.7 every 5 days, so about 50 ADA or 5% per year.

We came so far in 6 years, the blockchain technological progress has been massive, we're on the edge of entering the new technological era, the way we do things daily is going to change forever.
Absolutely! People don’t understand this just yet. Right now it is an abstract concept and until they don’t see something tangible, they will not understand it. So it will be very interesting to see the different tangibles that spring up out of this, much like Amazon, eBay and others did for internet.

No human that accumulated over a billion dollars, actually cares about others. Exploitation is how you extract profits in capitalism. Whether that be natural resources, intellectual labor, or physical labor, you have to exploit it in order to make a profit which is the primary goal of capitalism. Capitalism is dying because our world is dying. A new system of economics has to arise from the ashes as we burn the world down. If not, humans will cease to exist. Profit cannot be the sole purpose of human life, there is so much more that we humans have forgotten about and tragically its going to take the collapse of our civilization and habitat in order for anyone to possibly change.

Yesterday, Cardano just became 100% decentralized ... meaning every block created from now on will be 100% in the hands of the community stake pools (over 2000 at this point) ... a Great achievement based on CH vision presented in this tedx talk 6 years ago! HISTORY IN THE MAKING

This man is absolutely wonderful. Academic and emotionally intelligent. Monumental behaviour/personality that next to no one has. I want my future to look like this and when you see the process with the open-source and transparent roadmaps/projects they have laid out (including the countless white papers), I will support ADA for the rest of my life. I look forward to Charles re-doing his TED talk.
