Some of the comedy albums in my parent's collection were very -- educational. Redd Foxx, Cheech and Chong's Wedding Album, something by the Python's. And on television John Candy and Joe Flaherty on SCTV doing the Farm Film Celebrity Blow-Up, making celebrities cry and blowin' stuff up - blowin' stuff up real good was pretty chaotic. Or most things by John Belushi. I hope there were lots of kids in the 90's who got from Mr Blobby what I got from my childhood crazies in the 70's.

The camera-work is spot-on there. Mr Blobby is big and menacing in the foreground, taking up half of the screen and we perfectly see the hand go up to the mouth, for the scream. Jack being all tiny and vulnerable off in the background on his half of the screen, with a perfect reaction time. Scene is pure genius.
Any of the versions of the Doctor would be well and truly f****d and they've dealt with a bunch of wheelie bins with industrial egg whisks and sink plungers.
My favorite part of Mr. Blobby vs. Jack was mostly obscured by the end credits during the original broadcast: you just get a glimpse of Jack retreating off the set, and Blobby vaults over Jack and Denise's desk to chase him.
He was not for children though. The joke with Mr Blobby was always: get a celebrity who think they are guest staring on a Children's show called Mr Blobby. Mr Blobby was an incompetent host for children's show who made the thing a disaster. But it was fake, hidden camera show. It was a prank being played on the celebrity.

Actually, for all the jokes, whoever it is that plays Mr. Blobby inside the suit is genuinely hilarious with the slapstick comedy. And they always were, even on Noel's House Party, as the character was actually introduced as part of one of Noel's "gotchas" - pulling a prank on a celebrity - and the whole point of "Mr. Blobby" was to be an anarchic uncontrollable and unprofessional influence that was ruining everything (to test how long the celebrity could tolerate everything going horribly wrong, as part of the prank). The kids all loved Mr. Blobby, so he became a kids' character - but he was never originally intended to be so. He was introduced to be chaotic and just plain weird, to prank the celebrities on "gotchas", and whoever plays Mr. Blobby has always stayed true to that origin story. What a legend.

I've always wanted to see a Blobby comedy-horror movie. It starts when an illegal rave in the abandoned Blobby theme park goes wrong when a group of ravers are found murdered. We then move to the present day. Mr Blobby is writing his memoirs. It turns out he was responsible for the murders but no one suspects it's him. The reason for it was he was still angry about the BBC making him a joke. Mr Blobby was training to be a Shakespearean actor and felt the Saturday night slot would get him noticed and he'd be a big star. Sadly, it never happened. His career dried up when Blobby had made an appearance at a child's birthday party and accidentally knocked over the cake leading to the father confronting him later and coming to blows. Meanwhile, at the BBC, with a new interest in Mr Blobby they decided to bring the character back and hire an actor to take the role. The actor is grumpy and hates the role. As the movie goes on, we see a set of horrific, gory 'accidents' but people dismiss it as such because why would someone do that? Things come to a head when the actors house is raided and there's no one there...except the muffled screaming from a wardrobe. It's the actor. He was kidnapped not to soon after getting the job and the true culprit is nearby. Mr Blobby enters the room and he fights with cops. They try to remove his head but find it can't come off as he's really a sentient being. Blobby then kills them in a not-so-comedic fashion and makes a run for it. Coming to the conclusion that he's made his point and that people think he's just a guy in a suit, he decides to go into hiding. Where? The old set of Noels House Party where no one will care to look...but if they do (duuuuun) end credits. I'm thinking Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen to do the inner monologue during the memoir and last scenes. Mr Blobby: The Movie He ruined your childhood and he'll do it again I thought this through too much. I also had an idea for a Chucklevision movie where the brothers antics get them sentenced for manslaughter. That's when it turns into a prison escape movie. It would be very gritty apart from the brothers Prisoner: You better be careful not to drop the soap in the shower, sunshine Barry: Whys that? Paul: You know why. Someone could slip on it and get hurt. We don't want more trouble. Anyway, they get acquitted after its discovered they were never trained for the job and they're both really incompetent. In fact, they were told that by former employees. The boss tries to escape from the police but slips on some soap that was in the corridor for some reason.
This is something out of a Lovecraft story, where Jack is the only person who's aware that there is an eldritch abomination plaguing the set while everyone is just smiles and laughter

Actually, for all the jokes, whoever it is that plays Mr. Blobby inside the suit is genuinely hilarious with the slapstick comedy.
And they always were, even on Noel's House Party, as the character was actually introduced as part of one of Noel's "gotchas" - pulling a prank on a celebrity - and the whole point of "Mr. Blobby" was to be an anarchic uncontrollable and unprofessional influence that was ruining everything (to test how long the celebrity could tolerate everything going horribly wrong, as part of the prank).
The kids all loved Mr. Blobby, so he became a kids' character - but he was never originally intended to be so.
He was introduced to be chaotic and just plain weird, to prank the celebrities on "gotchas", and whoever plays Mr. Blobby has always stayed true to that origin story. What a legend.

I've always wanted to see a Blobby comedy-horror movie.
It starts when an illegal rave in the abandoned Blobby theme park goes wrong when a group of ravers are found murdered. We then move to the present day. Mr Blobby is writing his memoirs. It turns out he was responsible for the murders but no one suspects it's him. The reason for it was he was still angry about the BBC making him a joke.
Mr Blobby was training to be a Shakespearean actor and felt the Saturday night slot would get him noticed and he'd be a big star. Sadly, it never happened. His career dried up when Blobby had made an appearance at a child's birthday party and accidentally knocked over the cake leading to the father confronting him later and coming to blows.
Meanwhile, at the BBC, with a new interest in Mr Blobby they decided to bring the character back and hire an actor to take the role. The actor is grumpy and hates the role. As the movie goes on, we see a set of horrific, gory 'accidents' but people dismiss it as such because why would someone do that?
Things come to a head when the actors house is raided and there's no one there...except the muffled screaming from a wardrobe. It's the actor. He was kidnapped not to soon after getting the job and the true culprit is nearby. Mr Blobby enters the room and he fights with cops. They try to remove his head but find it can't come off as he's really a sentient being. Blobby then kills them in a not-so-comedic fashion and makes a run for it. Coming to the conclusion that he's made his point and that people think he's just a guy in a suit, he decides to go into hiding. Where? The old set of Noels House Party where no one will care to look...but if they do (duuuuun) end credits.
I'm thinking Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen to do the inner monologue during the memoir and last scenes.

I also had an idea for a Chucklevision movie where the brothers antics get them sentenced for manslaughter. That's when it turns into a prison escape movie. It would be very gritty apart from the brothers

Paul: You know why. Someone could slip on it and get hurt. We don't want more trouble.
Anyway, they get acquitted after its discovered they were never trained for the job and they're both really incompetent. In fact, they were told that by former employees. The boss tries to escape from the police but slips on some soap that was in the corridor for some reason.
Incredible how Blobby can be absolutely terrifying and totally hilarious at once. I feel for Jack.
This is something out of a Lovecraft story,
where Jack is the only person who's aware that there is an eldritch abomination plaguing the set while everyone is just smiles and laughter
