@1971Evangeline 07:15 lol Agreed. Morten doesn't come across as 'fun' and light-hearted like many normal celebs that we're used to, but he just thinks indepth about everything. Exactly as you said, he does talk on the fly as he's thinking things through, so it comes across as rambling to some people, but you can tell he's just finding the right words to communicate what he wants to say, partly because I think he's conscious of being mis-understood...
Oh, yes, I would love to have a one-off with you, Morten!!! (even if it would be just for talk!) :-) But those women are so shallow - still focusing on TOM and the past, instead of talking about Morten and His solo projects, which is why He was there for...! Such a shame! But, to our delight, Morten is charming, as always - good take on that, Mr. Perfection!!! :-) And thanks a lot for sharing! :-) LOL
Ah Morten, I want to see you smiling always because your happiness is contagious. Please don't disapear!!! And that 's the end of the group A-HA doesn't mean the end of the MORTEN HARKET - MORTEN PLEASE Never forget and Always keep in your mind "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed." -Antoine de Saint Exupery
Yes, Morten is very manly. However, it's many things. First, I liked their music. Then, I liked the way they looked. I had their poster on my bedroom wall. It is many things. I also was obsessed with Duran. I liked Depeche too.
Maybe he was talking about what was he feeling through Rock in Rio. He has mentioned before, that at that moment while he was on that stage, watching that crowd, he knew they were at the peak of their career, and he couldn't connect with that. He has said he was tired of tours and recording, so this part of his life is kind of blurry for him. Rock in Rio and take on me were two important moments of his career and they were to intense for him :)
Hey, I think Morten says "it's a RESILIENT thing", not "a Brazilian thing". Meaning, in my understanding, that the early successes of their career are what stay in the minds of the general populace long after the band itself has evolved, grown, changed. So this fame is "resilient", as in durable and long-lasting, and preceding them (whether they like it or not) into every interaction they have. It's at 2:22 if you want to have a listen.
Love him, I thought It was a good interview. What's funny is that he went back on there more recently, in October 2017 because he was disappointed they didn't "Eat him alive" on this appearance. He said someone warned him about them and he didn't think it sounded so bad, LOL.
@missfiso It's really not such a bad show. The women were asking questions about how A-ha coped with with fame and being pin-up boys, and Morten told them that they accepted that part of it, but all they really wanted to be were musical artists, which I think they've shown over the years that they are. A-ha do not choose the shows they appear on, their publicist does, and I think he came across really well. Obviously very intelligent, he answers questions from the heart.
Before I watched this I knew it might look awkward. He's fairly complex and can ramble a bit whereas their chat is 90% inane. They can't adapt when someone goes beyond their expectations and out-intellectualises them
God, how could Morten do that to himself? I felt so bad for him, he was trying to engage in a proper, deep conversation, and all the Loose Women wanted to do was go on and on about the olden days! Of course, those olden days were simply the best... pity I wasn't around to see them live!
Hi oakenharket ! Thanks for your comment ! I really aappreciated . I didn´t understand at the time but now , listening again, I heard what you said. Are you related to Morten? The same surname... I´m a huge fan of him
@oneiros666 think about it, the sun always shines on TV had a main lyric in the chorus that was "touch me", dont u think it would have caused confusion especially as the two songs were released at around the same time?
@TheVassal18 most probably is that he was refering to the fact that talk about take on me in interviews is like when they talk about the brazil concert(in 1991) because since that two things happened the stupid media thinks that were the only highlights in theirs career,is like they never make any different questions..talking about the same things, take on me,the brazilian concert with the record guinnes and morten´s look, nothing more..
So you can understand this "Brazilian thing" please watch the video "... a-ha - Hunting High and Low - Rio de Janeiro 1989 ..." and you'll see the passion of the Brazilians at the a- ha and Morten Harket, of course, that ‘s a reciprocal thing.
@Panthera0nca to be fair, not ALL the records..mags wrote or co-wrote a lot to,and morten some of them..in fact the song wich made them break into the fame was written by the three together..to be clear,im not defending what SueBT has said because i have no idea what was it..
@TheVassal18 im pretty sure he was trying to say that, because is really irritating to be asked about the same things through 25 years and is like there weren´t much a-ha than that while in reality they have made a lot more songs and they are in this programs to promote the newer stuff...and the brazilian concert was tremendous but they have many more big concerts in their career.
I think he has gotten better with age, He was hot back then, don't get me wrong, I was just as in Love with him as all the other fans were but being in the US, they dropped out of sight after those first couple of years. Well, I rediscovered them a few months ago when I heard The Sun Always Shines on TV in the car and came home and went looking online, of course I was pleasantly surprised they were in fact still around and when I saw more recent pictures of him I REALLY liked what I saw. He is much sexier now, I guess it's a more manly, raw type of sexiness that is really appealing.
The fact that "Take on me" was such a hit is odd, especially considering it is bad use of the English language. In Norwegian, "Take on me" makes sense, but not in English. The proper title in English should've been "Touch me".
he must got used to being pretty and the anoying part of it, cmon he´s 50and of course keeps looking good obviusly cause he want to, maybe some bottox, gym and diet and of course hair dye, if someone looks like that at 50 only is due to self effort, he is pretty and he likes it and abviously strugles for keeping that
An intelligent man of intelligent music navigates the banal questions with ease and comes across as likeable all the same
It's heaven to look at him and to listen to him...AAAAAAHHHHH MORTEN!!!
Wonderful classy guy and a wonderful band. It's encouraging to see grown-ups making music.
He's quite a deep thinker, the way he takes time over his answers, really serious....MY GOD! He's still REALLY fit!
@1971Evangeline

He's perfect

hes stunning!!!!!!!

So you can understand this "Brazilian thing" please watch the video "... a-ha - Hunting High and Low - Rio de Janeiro 1989 ..." and you'll see the passion of the Brazilians at the a- ha and Morten Harket, of course, that ‘s a reciprocal thing.

Aww, Morten's cute and a cool guy. But oh man, he looked soo fine back when he was younger. ;D
I think he has gotten better with age, He was hot back then, don't get me wrong, I was just as in Love with him as all the other fans were but being in the US, they dropped out of sight after those first couple of years.
