I was unsure if I wanted to build a Jhoira deck, but now I'm sure that I want to! Great deck tec DJ! I think Jhoira is going to be fun too! So many options! I think she is going to be one of the top three most popular commanders in the set.

Drawing a card for heroic spells (especially artifact) is such a powerful effect. It's like a Sram on steroids... In actual good colors!
you should have way more subscribers. I enjoy your videos even more than the command zone. they are still great and all but I like how you focus on one card and present multiple different avenues of approach of how to build it.

One legendary for her I haven't seen talked about, but I'm absolutely in love with to slot into her deck is Zurgo, Bellstriker. You talked about the value engine for casting legendary creatures, and Zurgo counts as being cast when you use his dash ability, but then he bounces himself back to your hand so you can do it again the next turn, plus he avoids sorcery speed removal, or removal entirely if you've played Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir.

Wow, I love this. What's awesome for me is give or take a card or two, I built almost exactly the same deck! (which means to me that my deck building is finally getting a bit better! Ah yay! lol)
There is so much flexibility in this strategy. You could be right on. There are powerful cards I left out just because there isn't enough room. This just means that there is EVEN more flexibility than we thought.
These are great tips. The most common Jhoira build on EHHREC is storm, and I'm trying to avoid storm. So i'm struggling. She seems extremely well suited for a storm build. I already have Mizzix and Locust God decks, so what other win conditions can we think of besides storm or card draw? Hellkite Tyrant and Mechanized Productions? Words of Wind if you hate your friends? LOL
Now I have to go build a Jhoira deck, thanks Jumbo! 😆
Keep watching and I'll keep tempting you with decks until you have no money left :)
Update: I built a variant of this deck. By far my favorite commander deck now. My play group told me to tell you that they hope you burn in hell for giving me this idea. 😂
I've JUST noticed the "I hate you" in the intro. Subtle, JC, subtle.
I had my wife record some "commander phrases" for the intro so there could be some different voices. Her first reading had little to no enthusiasm behind it ... when I aske her to redo the reading but better this time, there was passion behind the "I hate you"
I used the mycosinth - hellkite combo in my kaalia deck. It's awesome.
Let's not forget that Ornithopter and memnite are free cycles in the deck.
Jhoira is super strong and she is very much cEDH viable
I would love to see an Arvad the Cursed Deck Tech. I have tried myself however it is far from amazing. It would be great to see where you go with it.
I think it's a little underpowered but there is so much flavor there. I might give it a try cause legends are awesome.
I feel like Arvad is one of the 99 in a basically completely legendary Vampire deck;) Why 99? because red has some awesome vampires also.
Just think about all the crazy Kamigawa Legends though. Here is my list, but there are so many more legends that I had to cut.

I actually started running this as a completely casual one cause I already have to cEDH decks that I am happy with. Needless to say, the build I’m running hits on both paradox storm and Cheerios now because it just naturally was too good for my casual playgroup. Turn five wins were the norm without my even running the cEDH artifacts! Def a fun deck!!

My favorite Jhoira combo is Intruder Alarm + Retraction Helix + 0 drop artifact creature + Jhoira
You end up being able to cast an infinite number of spells and draw out your whole deck.

I'm building a Sram equipment deck at the moment, his ability is quite similar to Jhoira's - couldn't you do a deck tech on Sram? :D I'm really excited what you would make out of him...
I'm thinking of making a Hallar The Firefletcher deck. R/G has ways other then her triggered ability to stack a bunch of counters on it. Kuck two or three spells and watch the other players fall.
What about a muldrotha edh?
Wouldn't march of the machines with mycosynth lattice wipe your lands though?
A fun card in the deck would be Mishra Self-Replicator becauae it can grow expanentally with every historic spell you cast

My 75$-ish deck storms off on either turn 5 or 6. It's super satisfying.
I like the idea of a "Recycle" deck; sending artifacts to the grave or saccing them just to get them back. Cards like Pia's Revolution would be a decent addition, allowing you to sac your 0 mana cost cards to then try and put them into your hand. If they don't want it to happen, they damage themselves for doing it. If someone is at a low enough life though, you can also just keep saccing 0 mana artifacts to draw cards. Using cards like Feldon to get Wurmcoil after Wurmcoil or a Combustible Gearhulk, Myr Retriever to eventually get more artifacts back, or Pia Nalaar/Pia and Kiran Nalaar to help make more tokens in which you can screw with them. It should be noted that Scrap Trawler must get something with "lesser converted mana cost", meaning you cannot sac cards like Mind Stone or Commander's Sphere and target them for the return with its own ability.
Other 0 mana artifacts that SHOULD make it into the deck; Tormod's Crypt - remove target player's graveyard at instant speed, Spellbook - 0 mana draw a card and Reliquary Tower effect, Hangarback Walker - while not really a "0" drop, you can dump mana to it at its best, and at its worst you just pay 0 and send it to the graveyard to draw a card.
One thing I noticed Jumbo, is in the deck tech you posted, there aren't allot of higher CMC noncreature artifacts for March or Antiquities War, I'm curious if an army of 1/1's and 2/2s or like minded things are really efficient enough to try and close out a game? Or if your deck tech is more focused on value and eventually comboing off with flyers from Efficient Construction/Mechanized Production/Words of Wind. Only Lattice, Forge, Mirrorworks (great card btw XP), Gilded Lotus, and Paradox Engine are, by default, higher than 5 CMC. I thought I'd have seen other value cards, like the Gearhulks, Battlesphere, Panharmonicon (if you decided to go with a more "ETB" type of deck (not to mention is GREAT synergy with Mirrorworks, since you can pay 4 and get two copies of artifacts.
Jhoira is awesome in my Breya deck, also Phyrexian Scripture, Antiquities War has turned out awesome in my artifact themed decks. How about Tatyova, Benthic Druid she seems like a beast at land ramp/card draw? :P

I pronounce cards as many ways as I can. Some games I'm a dusty ol' ranch hand and others a charming slave trader. The more I can mispronounce vigilance a game the better it gets!
One of the best combos for her is probably the isochron scepter + dramatic reversal combo. I even see in your cedh deck list you have dramatic reversal, but not the scepter. Super efficient and both work well individually in the deck plus they can be easily tutored up with muddle the mixture and artifact/instant tutors which are bountiful in blue. But yeah Jhoira is super powerful and could easily be tier 1 if not banworthy.
Jhoira stax by garta is a pretty good list, also he has a Cheerios list of course that’s a meme but it wins a few tables.
MIami rick also has a stax version of her that’s also really good, but they’re pretty similar so.
ohh right stax also makes sense. When you have tons of cheap mana rocks you don't really care that your lands don't untap, plus you can run all the hate artifacts you want, torpor orb, damping sphere.
I'll make the change. The scepter should be in there. I even added muddle the mixture to search for them. I didn't mention it in the video because I just spoke about it a week ago but I could have devoted a couple seconds to it. My bad.
I hadn't really thought of building a Jhoira but you have gave me some great starting ideas to make a FUN deck as opposed to the combos most players might trend towards...
PS: I saw on your twitter you did well in your pre-release - I managed to get a promo History of Benalia and a Mox Amber went 4-0 playing mostly white Abzan historic, my box wasn't too great though but still had a lot of fun!

Yes! But it will kill all of theirs too! Suddenly no one has lands, all permanents are creatures and it's a combat free-for-all until someone dies!
Your deck sounds sweet. I'm jealous of your pulls. I think History of New Benalia is cube playable so I clearly need a foil but I think the price right now is stupid. This set will sell really well. I would sell those pulls pretty soon if you want to cash out.
Yes I was thinking of trading in my Lyra (won't use her in any of my EDH decks) and probably the Hist of Benalia for a copy of Muldrotha (replacing my Mimeoplasm) and maybe some more packs when actual release is here! I'm hoping the promo will keep it's value but who knows!

The Locust God I build thanks to you Jumbo, wins games by drawing. Not often do I win by insects attacking or Commander damage. Now with Jhoira, win by infinite draw combo and deal damage to each opponent?

Question: With Words of Wind+Jhoira+Mox Amber, can you drop the Mox, tap it to pay the 1 for Words of Wind, choose to return the Mox to your hand, drop it again and repeat? Am I missing something, because he says you need more than one mana rock?
The trigger for jhoira happens on cast, which is why you need a rock out to start the loop. If her trigger was on ETB, you could use a single rock.

Cool tech man! However I do have to mention that march of the machines + mycosynth lattice will have the huge downside of destroying all of your lands, since cmc on lands is 0. New Jhoira seems really cool though.

Ehm... I think you don't see the potential with words of wind as you seem it as a bit janky, but I could see it being prety solid, you only need two rocks between mana crypt/ mana vault/ mox amber/ sol ring/ mox opal, or have some cost reduction for artifacts and you can go infinite with it (or at least until you bounce all your opponent's boards). Thanks for all the suggestions.
Also, with mana severance, mycosynth lattice and mycosynth golem you can combo off with monstrous artifact creatures and not just little mana rocks.
I see the potential as something really strong but just not quite at the level of cEDH. I could be wrong. It just needs 4 cards to get going and the commander is 4 cmc. I'm afraid that it's too many pieces to pull off and if you are missing any words of wind is just a blank when you always want your draw. I put it in my powerful (but not competitive) deck. The combo does basically win the game. So gross.

For a non-competitive : Darksteel Forge + Mycosynth Golem = All your artifacts are industructible and free to play, Sculpting Steel, Arcbound Crusher, Psychosis Crawler.
I love Artificer's Assistant here, making you scry before you draw (you choose the order of the triggers) for every artifact you cast, so you can just puts your extra lands at the bottom of your deck.
Vandalblast + mycosynth lattice = destoy the opponent boards, litteraly.
Thran Temporal Gateway If you play a lot of big legendary creatures sush as : Myojin of Infinite Rage. You can blow up every lands, but you still have your tons of manarock.

What about Mana Severance from Tempest. 1U and you can remove all lands from your library which allows you to go off and storm for a win but not have to loop a combo. Panharmonicon, Quicksmith Genius and Riddlesmith are also cards that work well.
HAHA, Cool. I love how such ridiculous cards have such great combo potential. This works well with Oracle's Vault combo too.

With words of wind do you have to pay per draw that you skip?
Yes. And the trigger occurs on CAST. If all the abilities triggered on ETB then you could perform the loop with a single rock. The way it is actually worded you need to juggle bouncing two rocks (that produce positive mana).
Think the best combo is isochron scepter and dramatic reversal. You already have critical mass of mana rocks so you get infinite mana and storm for aetherflux reservoir . Sad to not see it not shown in the competitive section of the deck that it claims to be.
I really want to see tetsowa umazacy, fugitive! It's my favorite card in the set!

I had the "pleasure" of being the test subject of a jhoira eggs deck, and it won 4 of 5 games by turn 3, so ya, shes really good, but loses to nekusar like effects

I'm wondering if there are enough historic cards of relevance to flash in. Like in EDH we can flash boardwipes like disk and o-stone which gives Raff a huge advantage.
Jumbo Commander you can flash in soo much stuff. For instance: Spellskite, platinum angel, padeem and darksteel forge (artifact route), keiga the tide star, gideons with the you cant die emblem, karns temporal sundering, legendary enchantments with upkeep triggers like search for azcanta, on serras wings, wizards with tap abilities (arcum daggson), baral, braids conjurors adept, muzzio, planar bridge, eight and a half tails, bident of thassa, elesh norn, and i probably skipped a ton of other cards :)
I think Niv-Mizzet would be a good include because then all your card draw will let him ping for one each time.
Nice! Plus he's a pretty majestic izzet commander if you are going down the legendary route.
If you are adding Niv, you may as well add cards like Psychosis Crawler and The Locust God as well for more value
Words of wind absolutely goes in cEDH. It’s a turn 3-4 combo with any mana positive rocks and little to no setup

My fellow players now plays blue decks if I play any blue. I have to resort in madness I called "Broken Arrow" a military code or term. Cast boil or boiling seas and make sure I have maximum handsize. With Jhoira I have to or find another store I have not played before and try it out.

Jumbo Commander Oh my Ydris...I was messing around with Nazahn earlier. Dropping a big cat that tutors equipment every turn was something else. I'm going to put the equipment in almost all of my decks. Also, having 3 Avacyn's on the battlefield was a sight to behold.

i build a cedh jhoira deck, not a 100% maxed but very close and its awsome..........if you like playing by yourself because you recast everything you just cast again and again and again. perfect if you wanna get hated by your playgroup

Teferi isn't a legendary card because the card itself doesn't have the legendary type unlike the ones from Ixalan and onwards.

Same reason they haven't reprinted every single mana rock and mana producing land to show the colorless symbol instead of the number. There's no reason to, but every time we see those cards printed in the future, they will have the legendary super type on them. This rule was changed as of the release of Ixalan.

Raff capashen in a nutshell.
Step 1. Play gideon of the trials and get the you cant lose emblem.
Step 2. When you seem to die, flash in a gideon.
Step 3. Use helm of the host to make nonlegendary gideons.
Step 4. Use reverse the sands if your life total is below 0.
