I was going to post something like this if you hadn't. I think the fisherman was working with JP to get Mica's belongings before anyone else could, including the police. And when he had her involuntarily committed, why did he take her car and not let her have it back, even though she was paying for the car and insurance? She would have been safer if she had personal transportation. Why did he fire her from working at the church? If he was so concerned about her, he would have wanted to keep her close to him, instead of forcing her to go out looking for other work so that she started working at a restaurant. And when Mica found a place to live away from him with an older woman, why did JP get upset and ban that older woman from the church? I don't think the general public realizes how broken the system is when it comes to DV. I had a patient once whose wife had recently filed for divorce and left him. He bragged to me about using his wive's friends & co-workers to get information on and to her. Openly admitting he was violating his PO. When I called to report this as I am mandated to, LE told me they weren't aware of the PO yet and they were 3-4 weeks behind. This is critical in such a dangerous situation. #JusticeForMica!💜💜💜

He had me mentally weak & to the point it took an arrest where I could escape & hide to get away from him. A few times he found me & drug me by my neck & did other things. It sounds backwards but I was so afraid of him that I returned believing if I didn’t that he’d find me & do worse. Sometimes you think that there is no way out. Once my son was born the baby gave me more strength to hide & put him in prison for a longer period.

My ex bf was abusive like this. Followed the whole DV abuse cycle. I didn’t know anything about DV. I DID know I was not being treated right. I was stalked, ran off the road..lots of things. After being held to a wall by my throat choking… I googled “bf put his hands on my throat” And THATS when I realized I was completely in DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and the cycle, dangers…escalation..etc. He abused me for almost a year through the courts after he slashed my forehead, and THE STATE/police filed for his warrant. The ball was IGNORED countless times through the years. It was horrible experiencing all of law enforcement and courts claiming my justice and then totally not following through. It was such a false hope of safety. I had to end up fleeing. Watching the Gabby Petito case unfold was even traumatic for me… this case is enraging… The law just thinks this is all “drama” and often that’s even the DA and Judges too.
I only ever called LE once, finally started going to a support group after that. People in my family were ignorant of how they do stuff, and some were evil. I am glad to see someone religious get outed, this is where the problem started, false religion. I did get some help from churches. They're not all evil all the time. But you have to be careful.

She had only just filed, there has to be a court date or something to even consider it. She also filed for a restraining order, both of these only 2 days prior to her death. He probably got wind of it and needed to take action so he could get her cremated before anything could stop him. So officially there was no divorce pending yet. But that funeral home had another cremation that wasn't supposed to happen.
People like JP abuse in cycles - when it's good it's GREAT but when it's bad it's real bad....so to me everything she did that 'wouldn't be done by someone who is being abused' means absolutely NOTHING! That’s what I was thinking… the family are the ones who first heard it from him of her passing, I thought. And the funeral homes have no idea a spouse cannot be the one authorizing a cremation in SC, if there is a pending divorce with documentation or separation. But who asks and verifies stuff like that after a death.
She had only just filed, there has to be a court date or something to even consider it. She also filed for a restraining order, both of these only 2 days prior to her death.
He probably got wind of it and needed to take action so he could get her cremated before anything could stop him.
So officially there was no divorce pending yet. But that funeral home had another cremation that wasn't supposed to happen.
