I did 7 months overall in solitary. Longest time spent all at once was 2 months straight. It’s one of the worst suffering. You begin to overthink every little thing in your past. Time goes by so painfully slow. Your senses become dull & your mind starts to question if you’ll ever get out. You hope to go “crazy “because maybe the suffering will stop & you’ll enjoy the madness. You watch the Co’s on the other side of your cell door & think how much that door separates your lives from one another. Your only escape is sleep because then time doesn’t exist but when you wake up again , the reality hits you again that you’re confined , trapped. Books are what saved my sanity. There's amazing meditation techniques, yoga nidra among them, which I would plan to deploy should I ever end up in such a situation. The mind is powerful, and can experience almost anything on its own.

I know right? Isolation is one of the worst things you can suffer from in life. With isolation you lose emotions, feelings, thoughts and the motivation to keep going on. Solitary confinement is probably the one of the worst and most painful punishments ever concocted in the human race.

Or, in a lot of instances imo, they're not even found guilty, they've just been accused and arrested but they cant afford bail so they rot in jail.

Mike Murphy look up what he did to his victim, everything short of killing her. She’ll definitely be permanently scared for life, and on medication. If she even goes on to live a normal life without debilitating panic attacks.

This isn't silly at all, you guys think this is simple. Not at all. Stuck in a small white room by yourself... 23 hours a day. Loneliness can eat you alive. It will eat you alive. Try doing this for 3 days..It's hard to survive.

General Happy this is a maximum security jail. It's for criminals that are a danger to guards and criminals of a non maximum security jail which is way more humane.
General Happy This place, from what I understand, is a maximum security prison. And this one specifically is a kind of like a step above prison for prisoners who have assaulted other inmates and/or guards, ringleaders/gang leaders, and just very dangerous people ie serial killers, spree killers, or terrorists.

@61third Well I am 100% for weed being legal for adults use, but i do not support the black market sales of it only because of how the money often ends up being use to fund far worse criminal activity like what we see happening in Mexico.
Of course everyone growing or selling pot is not some crime kingpin, but enough of them are that it is a serious problem.

Solitary is voluntary. They dont get put here because of their crimes but from their actions at prison. What do yoy think we should do with a guy going around stabbing people?
@@bornfree8073 haha I was put in solitary for 10 days because I had a seizure due to my epilepsy & they thought I did drugs 😂😂. I also was given 10 days because I couldn’t force myself to urinate for drug testing. They love overusing solitary. All together I spent 7 months in the shu.
