U need the hub centric rings with proper OD and ID specs. Look for them online and buy aluminum ones or discount tire might carry some. Also when u get the springs do an alignment.

  • @familysanders4540

Def needs hubcentric rings. Not a big issue. Once u go aftermarket wheels, u typically need them to limit the hub vibration while driving. It should have the hub size on the box for the wheels. Its prob different compared to your wheel hub size hence your vibration issue. Go for polyurethane if u can, metal rings may snap. Love ur content btw, keep doing you

  • @dz_gt500

Well damn Cam I thought you knew about hubcentric rings considering you’ve bought wheels before. Hopefully that’s the problem it’s real easy to install & cheap. I bought my first set of wheels last year & learned about hub rings, size/width/offset/tires etc. lol, lots to learn for sure!

  • @ntmballistix2058

I love your content bro. I’m excited I finally get my FK8 in the beginning of September.

  • @raidersperez1278

I feel your pain sir. When I had my mk3 Supra any time I did any thing some thing was always wrong. Luckily with my type r isn’t the same case.

  • @AFatOcelot

I've been having this issue since i bought my 13 lx. The front right wheel kinda shakes a bit above 75 mph. Was told it was due to the cheap tires that were on the front, so when I plreaced them due to a nail I expected it to go away - it got worse. I brought it back after getting new tires and they said yea they were off balance. It's been better since but I still feel it sometimes

  • @jordancrowder9331

That was bad ... That was bad .. 😂 love the narrating on yourself lol

  • @Swavy_fl5

This video has unfortunate circumstances to it but I love it that little bit of fun with the Miata and ending is gold 😂

  • @S650Joey

Looking forward to seeing you at the civic x dragon event at the tail of the dragon in 2024🙂 you’ll love it!

  • @beezusthegod

Each wheel company sells their own version of hubcentric rings, you should get those. I’ve had this issue before and it was not fun to deal with.

  • @alabdel1388

The AC thing is so true. I own an 86 and am relatively new to driving a manual, and when the AC is running it definitely sucks some power. That's common in all cars, but I guess it's more noticeable for me coming from strictly driving autos all my life...and now needing to match revs on shifts I can see where the same throttle input doesn't lead to the same number in revs you'll see without AC on.

  • @kjwong4730

I’ve had many cars through out my life, and boy I can relate to the feeling of something being slightly off about the car you love and have put so much time and money into, It absolutely drives me crazy, I so know how you feel. I sold my fk8 last yr and am regretting it now, should have kept it.

  • @BickfordsRs3

I had the same problem going to aftermarket rims.. i had no clue about hub centric adapters or chamfer..

  • @joseg.1185

Yes what Cristian was saying, I highly recommend the Hasport Performance rear engine mount (FCCRR- K82A). My FK8 is bone stock and the wheel hop is just ridiculous, so I installed the engine mount (very easy install, don’t consider myself a car guy lol) The difference it makes is night and day, it feels way more planted when you’re gassing it or driving around the twisties. Shifts on the FK8 are already immaculate stock and the mount just gave it that bonus+ feel. The vibration at first is a little harsh but it dies out around 500-1000 miles in my case. Even if the vibration didn’t go away it is just that worth it. Hope I’m able to convince you bro! Been a subscriber since day one and you’re killing it bro! Wish nothing but the best for you and your family! Stay blessed🙏🏼🤝

  • @shanemendonca1761

Along with balancing, get your wheels road forced and see if it’s possible to force match them. Helps a lot with the vibration.

  • @justinlunsford3590

That seafoam green Strat though 🤘😁 lol. You'll get the R worked out bro.

  • @justaturtle6790

My SI shakes like that as well. It started with the steering wheel then I got an alignment and wheel balance and it fixed it but now my whole car shakes like yours.

  • @ishanebrowni

Yeah brother you gotta get hub centric rings, you can find the size of the hub bore on the wheels on the spec sheet from wherever you got the volks from. Also get plastic ones so they don’t end up corroding or getting stuck to the back of the hub.

  • @SinisterPlauges

Dude I felt that "get this dump truck away from me." My poor WRX has had terrible luck with dump trucks beating on my windshield and front bumper/hood. They are everywhere where I live.

  • @stevef3521

I’ve noticed the 86 shifts can be touchy as well. For upshifts, try to keep the smallest bit of throttle applied as you clutch in. You shouldn’t see the rpm’s go up at all. Doesn’t seem logical, but it provides smooth shifts, and no jolting is felt through the drivetrain.
