  • A real in depth look at this lovely 8ft wide Bailey Caravan.
When we upgraded from our Elddis, we knew we still had made a couple of compromises but after 6 months we feel we made a really good choice with this caravan. It offers amazing value for money and the parts network that allows easy upgrades and repairs through Prima Leisure and a fantastic supplying dealer.
The only thing I've failed to mention is the Table which we've had issue with in every caravan we've ever owned. It's stored under the bed so hard to get to, it's heavy - too heavy for Ally to handle and it's just too big. We took our table out shortly after buying the caravan saving us a few tons of weight and it lives in a storage at home. One suggestion to manufacturers is to use some of the best camping equipment supplied by top camping manufacturers as an alternative.

Great video Alan, thank you! We’ve found it very useful, especially as we’re considering upgrading to an 8ft wide ‘van. Currently, we have a Phoenix+ 644 which is the same layout as your Brindisi (except the G shape lounge), and we have found many of the same quirks that you cover in your video. The marker lights for example, which is why we always put the awning onto the awning rail from the rear of the van.
As we’ve talked about in our messages, I like the way the spare is located under the van on the Pegasus, as it takes up a lot of room under the bed in our Phoenix. The electric hook-up point on the near side is a little annoying, but has never caused us issues. When the awning skirt is on, we use a gap between the skirt and wheel arch cover to pop the cable through under the ‘van and it keeps it out of the way and not trailing through the awning. As for the toilet, it would be great if they just add an extra tap onto the side of the flush tank for the loo, allowing you to fill the tank using the caravan water/aqua roll, but then it also give you the ability to add pink to the tank if needed.
Moving inside, we have the same fridge and unit, however our fridge opens the other way. I believe you can swap this around by swapping the grey clips, with the black clips on the other side. Maybe something to look in to if you’d prefer the door to open the other way. To cover up the fridge lights at night, we use a folded piece of card to slot in over the top of the fridge and cover the lights. It’s nice to see you have a light under the microwave to illuminate that area. Great idea to add the USB sockets next to the TV point in the bedroom, might have to borrow that one! The sliding door into the wash room also rattles in our ‘van and we’ve done as you have, added a little foam fuzzy pad to the side of the running track at the bottom which helped a lot. We got a little plastic basket to hold our shower gel and shampoo, which’s uses suckers to attach the wall and surprisingly it’s never fallen off!
It’s a lovely caravan you have and I can see why yourself and Ally love it so much.
    Thanks again, Ash.

Thanks for watching and commenting Ash 👏 I spotted on Prima Leisure that the pop up wireless charger is only £38 👌 and the c line fast charge with USB C can be got off ebay for under £20 so the USB thing is a no brainer upgrade.

We have just bought one of these and we are very happy with it. Just a couple of other points we found, the van is higher so when we pull the awning on from the rear I have to be a step higher to 'pull' the awning across, just a bit more awkward. I also have had to trim back some of the sealant on the joints in the awning rail as it was preventing the awning from pulling through easily. Love the space and the G-Shape furniture. More adventures planned and will update if I come across anything else. Great video guys. :-) 😊😊

We have the 7 foot Brindisi and totally agree about the marker light and EHU point. We have an air canopy and found putting it on from the back a lot easier. As for the EHU point we go off grid mostly nowadays and for that reason I put an auto changeover regulator in the gas box so the fridge doesn’t run out over night. Love the shower, ours is a 2016 year, and does have a shelf and it’s strange they did away with it.

In your 12v sockets just put a usb adapter in each one and hey presto you have 2 usb points in each one without damaging your caravan. A couple of quid and you are done and it looks very neat too. I have the same van.

Yeah, have done that in the bedroom and we also have a charging hub in the 240v. We just never seem to have enough 😍😍 cameras, drones, phones, tablets, laptop, so many things are now usb charging.

I know what you mean about the white caravan back, because ours was like it. But we put a big decal on there, in grey, like the sides . Maybe you could consider that. A lot of companies will make one up to your specifications

That sounds like a good idea. 👍 Do you have a Web address of the company you used 😍

You can get your dealer to put the USB plug sockets in And won't affect your warranty

Yes, that's an option but as I've been an electrician for longer than I can remember, I'm just reluctant to pay for what I can do myself 😍

Great vid.. we have the Pegasus grande se turin so very similar van we put a drying rack on top of the drainer works very well for us . The over head lockers are very weak the bit of wood that connects to the hinges has broke on ours and taken it back to be fixed. Do you have a big gap on your front bumper just below the windows was thinking of getting it siliconed as the dirt and muck is horrible trying to clean .

Yes, we do have the same unsealed front panel and was thinking the same to tidy it up.

    Hi Guys
Daft ? Where do you store the dinette table when not in use ?

    • @Coffeevaners
      @Coffeevaners  Před 6 měsíci +1

The official storage in the bailey is under the bed. But we've yet to find a caravan manufacturer that makes a lightweight table that isn't so big it's in our opinion totally useless. So we took our out the day we picked up the caravan and keep ours in the back of a cupboard at home.
