In a few weeks our 6-year old son will begin his homeschooling. We needed to move to another country to be able to do this. Though it is allowed inNorway, it is very uncommon. Only 0.04% of the school kids are being home schooled. In this video we will share with you why we are choosing to homeschool, and why in Norway.

This is so encouraging to hear. We are a Christian home schooling family in Ireland and it is also quite uncommon here, although perhaps not quite as rare as in Norway. I'm encouraged by your commitment to give your child a Christian education in spite of all the challenges! Blessings to you all!

Oh homeschooling is such a blessing! I love that you really made it a priority and arranged your life around that, it’s admirable! We have really been enjoying homeschooling, especially doing unit studies. I’m excited for you guys!

I am a former teacher, Norwegian and mother of four adult children. When the children were small, I dreamed of teaching them at home, but at the time no one talked about it actually being a possibility. So I did like everyone else, sent the kids to public school and taught myself - usually at another school. Later, I discovered through my job that it was actually possible to home school when a student for whom my own school had primary responsibility was to be home schooled by the parents.
My children had good school years, but not everything was as good. The worst thing about sending the children to public school was that they unfortunately got a very loose relationship with my religion.
It was not long ago that I discovered that it is not possible to home school your children in Sweden, and was glad that it is an option here in Norway.
I wish you the best of luck with homeschooling, and am glad that you have the support of other families who are doing the same. I think more people in this country will do like you in the future.

Hi! My husband and I were thinking to immigrate to Norway but we decided against because our research lead us to believe Norway is not Pro-Homeschooling. We are South African.
We were afraid to risk our children getting taken away by social services.

Best of luck to you! I was not homeschooled, but am homeschooling our children in the U.S. where I am from. We love it so much.

I want to ask, why do you still prefer homeschool even though Norway has very good schooling systems? Honest curious question 😊
