      There should be a law against fake English teachers in the USA. They shouldn't teach a language which they don't master.

    Kevin, first of all, thank you for your job! It's so useful! I would like to ask you, if it's possible some time in the nearest future ,😊 to make a video on the confusing topic What's the difference between "I get my dinner ready/I cook my dinner" or I need to get my work done/ I need to do/complete my work. In all these sentences it means that I do the action myself in my case (it's not causitiv verbs), so in what situations should I use either of them, and how can I understand where the causative form and where the person does it himself.thank you in advance!

    @lushlife664 Před 5 měsíci +1

    I like your videos and I keep learning from you. However, since we are talking about mistakes, we don't say "They are laying in the snow". We have to use the intransitive verb "lie". "They are lying in the snow" is the correct answer. "To lay" is a transitive verb and it's followed by an object e.g. "I am laying the table" or "the hen is laying an egg". "Lay" is also the past simple form of "lie"[to be in a horizontal position]. I also teach English but I 'm not a native speaker of the language.

      What does "to me/for me" MEAN ?.
      (with no "s" in the main verb 'cause you're making a direct question and using a helping verb ).
      The expression "to me" shows opinion, that's why you can express it at the beginning.
      But I think you can express it at the end too, I think it wouldn't affect at all because it'd convey the same idea.
      "For me" conveys the idea of favoring, I mean, it gives the idea of benefiting someone.
      I'm not so sure but I think you can also say:
      - What DO "to me" AND "for me" mean ?.
