Sad how most coffee shop baristas have no idea that Africa/Ethiopia is the birthplace of cofffeeee.... Delicious.
There are a lot of people who don't even know that the Kola Nut (which makes cola soft drinks like Pepsi and Coca-Cola) comes from a tree that is indigenous to West Africa. So it is no surprise about them not knowing about the origin of coffee, an East African/Horn plant.
They don't even know it was originally presented with salt and not sugar. I'm not kidding btw it still is being presented with salt to this day in some northern parts of Ethiopia. try it, it kicks ass
@@amazing50000 : Can you believe Wikipedia has the plant as having been native to Asia? Astounding.
@@prettyprudent5779 Yeah, that's crazy.
I read that Ethiopia also origin of Human being🤔 amazing.
I can't believe it ended on starbucks and the music made it seem like it's the crowning achievement of coffee history, bringing speciality coffee to the world... there's nothing special about the coffee at starbucks. It's actually no better than the coffee at McDonalds or your local gas station convenience store in terms of quality. Also, I don't think it has introduced many people to lattes and espressos. They had been popular all over the place for at least 10 years before starbucks was founded. I grew up in a small town in the US where people were probably the least educated about specialty coffees as they could be (they only heard about "expresso" from TV). But, it wasn't starbucks coming to town that enlightened them to the ways of good coffee. It was people starting a local roastery and coffee shop in the town. To this day there's still no starbucks. I still will never understand why people love starbucks so much. It does make a lot of people happy to waste their money there, but let's not act like it has anything to do with specialty coffee. It's the coffee equivalent of vinyl wood paneling.
Yeah ethiopia is a birth place of coffee it was discovered by the goat a goat helder name kaldi if I’m not mistaken
Yeah . The name coffee it's self came from kaffa province .
Informative 👍
Interesting video.
lol ok, but was the whipping sound effect necessary?
Without it I would have understood more!
Thank You Africa for discovering coffee to the rest of the world. 😀 #blackdiscoverer

Oh so thats how coffee discovered :000
Y'all ,this video doesn't fit with the title b/c it didn't show how it started in Ethiopia.and the interesting history behind how Ethiopian started to drink coffee.....less info.
I like starbucks iced coffee but so much sugar
Great vid
The video was nice overall but failed to talk about how the Ethiopians consumed it, how was it prepared in India and other places. The video only showcased how the Europeans and Americans drink it. It'll be better if you could include all the other countries instead of just The West.
BEST 1
Yeah its found in Ethiopia and also found original coffee come test original coffee
Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panamá and Colombia shoul've had a place in this video.
Thank you i am making a presentation on how coffee it made it really helpful
The title of this video is about the origin of coffee but it doesn't show how Ethiopians starts to consume it.

Why are there so many odd stops it is like you are waiting for something what are you waiting for
I use Java every week day.
The origin of coffee beans was in Ethiopia 🇪🇹 , but the Arabs in Yemen 🇾🇪 were the first to transform coffee into a drink and introduce it to the world. There are many documents and evidence supporting this claim, unlike the legendary story of Kaldi and the Dancing Goats
Quite interesting
Not Mysore.. those were brought to coorg n chikkamangalore.. still we r growing it...
.. Mysore state
The whipping noises were unnecessary when slavery was mentioned.

Where is important role of ottoman in this coffe journey ?
Ottomans liked Ethiopia’s invention and spread it while arab Muslims deemed it haram for centuries
The Ottoman Sultan Murad IV was the first to ban coffee and executed anyone who drank it
🤷🏻♂️ @@JohnDoe-sw1rs
Coffee came from Yemem first
Ethiopia
did anyone else feel like the cartoonish whiplash noises during the part where they mentioned slavery were.... insensitive..?? like they could have talked about slavery without all that
Doesn’t answer the question
bruh there a lot of videos out there on the internet you can watch and if you want an answer just go watch that but coffee was discovered in Ethiopia
Ethiopia invaded now? When it suits you, to justify the influence in the "middle east" of ethiopians you'll talk about the Ethiopian invasion?!?
Yemen was part of Ethiopia.
@i o Right! Because is hard to believe that Africa was the head of today's "middle east", isn't?
The only people that come from Yemen to Ethiopia are the first followers of Mohammed.
The rest is between your imagination and the European manmade maps and borders!
@i o
Yes. East Africa did "rule" middle east, as if its another part of East Africa. Not claiming, it is what it is!
Even ancient Greeks would tell you where Ethiopians lived and dwelled.
Have you ever heard the afroasiatic languages?!
Berber, Chadic, Cushitic, Egyptian, Omotic and semitic are all family.
I see it's hard for you to see east Africa is the blueprint for both the genetic diversity and civilisation development which means languages and alphabet too.
@i o
Ahahah Poor you!
I'll let your question be the answer of your own second comment.
Bye.🙋🏾♀️
@i o no thier were akusmite king in Yemen and it was actully over 100 years part of Ethiopia it wasn't occupied
