exactly what i thought, but i would say that is because it needs to be faithful to original and the blade shape and size is just better for cutting than stabing, so i would say poor weapon design
@@reptilianinmateusz8533 But it is actually pretty much like Asuna's rapier. The original, too, is adequate for cuts and slashes. Nothing to complain about though, great replica. And design flaw....wellll...it is from an anime, so...yeah

as far as I see they use proportions of longsword or bastard sword for this. rapier's grip is not suitable for two-handed holding at all :) and I think that the blade is too heavy (but I'm not sure without weighting) for thrusting: I think that point of balance too close to the center of sword. It will be good "rapier" for Asuna 2,5 meters tall and with muscles of Arni... :)

Because of the garbage fire the actual SAO turned out to be, the producers should just buy SAO abridged from Something Witty Entertainment and pass it off as the real SAO... Just a thought. Although they would probably ruin it, so never mind.

+Mark Keys (PAKTRA) If you watched the anime, you might've noticed that Asuna practically never slashed with her blade, especially in the initial SAO. Her attacks were all thrust-based, unlike Kirito's double wielding style. Even in Yuuki's arc her attacks mainly comprised of thrusting stances.
