    My approach was always B.Ed with NET instead of B.Ed vs NET.
    After completing my MA, I enrolled myself for B.Ed after wasting 2 years.
    Bt for next 2 years, I was doing my B.Ed along with working part-time jobs bt back in mind I was having the thought of clearing NET.
    After B.Ed I cleared state TET exam n got a govt school job. Immediately after my appointment, I started preparing for NET from CZcams n some books. I used to get little time for preparation bt I tried to utilise the time as the dream of becoming a college professor was always there in the mind.
    This year, I appeared for the NET, now waiting for the final result. Hopeful about the result. Keep your wishes too...

    Clearing NET, GATE doesn't always guarantee landing a job. Majority univs and colleges don't like to give an opportunity to freshers even though they have these exam qualified. Getting into PhD is another issue for English Postgrads since there are extremely limited number of seats in all univs and not everyone can afford to get into private univs for phd. Retirement ages have been extended as a result enough vacancy is not created. Almost 1-2.5/3 years one needs to grasp knowledge and prepare research proposals to get a chance in leading univs for phd. Hence there are no options left for people but to get into b.ed since sitting idle only gets them into depression. Atleast this degree will be completed in 2yrs rather than just waiting for a phd admission. And I'm not even talking of the strenous nature of phd, which is a different chapter altogether. There are many PhDs who sit unemployed. Academic job scene has deteriorated like hell in India.

    There is no tym limit to clear UGC NET while b.ed is a 2 year regular program/degree. Which means if you are smart enough you would require minimum 1 year to clear it whereas if you are an average student it can take upto 5 years of your lyf. Hence no confirmation when you are going to be placed. So, if someone is looking for a job within a specified tym limit they should go for B.ed , even if the pay-band is low as compared to UGC NET.

    I wont agree with the point that an assistant professor who crack NET will earn more. It depends. As a high school teacher and a fresher who joined after completing my B.Ed and MA I earn around 40k/PM. whereas my friend who works as an assistant professor earn 21k that too in Govt college (contract).There are people with NET who even earn 15k. In private colleges you cant earn much. It totally depends. But even I am looking forward to crack NET

    Well I want to say something in this respect. Unlike the principle that we should respect all professions equally, I admit that a professor/college lecturer is always more respectable than a school teacher and earns more too. But the thing is if u compare NET exam with any other TET exam(say CTET), u will easily come to this conclusion that CTET is hell easier that NET. Now people will say that NET should obviously be difficult as it makes you able to earn more. Is answer to this, I would like to say that, after your graduation/masters, if u want a teaching career, plz go for teacher training course(as B.Ed) cz it will surely make u get a job and then after securing ur earning, go for whatever better career(as NET) u wanna go for. Or you can also go for B.Ed and NET both. But I personally believe that it's devastating cz u can't focus on one path particularly. P.S: After clearing NET, even after getting a job in a college, u won't be relieved bcz then you will have to think about doing PH.D for ur job security. And there is no need to talk about the harsh truth about PH.D. 😅

    Two points. "There's no age limit" is true for appearing in the exam, but in case of interview an age limit will be there (it's a variable between 37 and 40). And, in a country with so much population, competition, unemployment etc., there's literally nothing that can "ensure" a financially stable future.
    But we have to keep working as there's nothing else we can do.
    P.S. I have cleared NET in English and yet I have got no 'return'. So that "paisa hi paisa" hope seems a bit ironic to me.

    Want to add a vital point for the aspirants: After Qualifying B Ed + CTET exam, a candidate can go for KVS & NVS exam. In NVS a TGT teacher's salary starts with an amount of 73thousand/Month (Gross) & every year increament is 9thousand approx. Where as in PGT they are providing 76thousand salary/month. Same with KVS the only difference is there you'll get HRA, in NVS there's no HRA because Teachers have to reside in the campus where fooding & lodging is free! ( I have worked as TGT Social science teacher in JNV in contract basis & I'm also UGC NET qualified) !

    • @debapanku
      @debapanku Před rokem +8

      Another point want to add In JNV schools (that are run by NVS) there's a good prospect for advancement in the career. A PGT teacher after 5 years of experience becomes eligible to apply for Vice-prinicipal post (which is a Class1 post), then after 10 years of experience as vice- principal, you can further apply for principal post, then after principal assistant commissioner, then deputy commissioner!

    A govt. teacher who teaches at Plus Two level earns more than Rs.50000 to 65000 per month at a starting level (the salary increases each year with increment and two DAs) in Kerala and I am sure same is the case with govt. run schools across other states in India. The number of govt. schools is more than the number of govt. colleges at least in Kerala. Some other schools and colleges in the state are called Aided wherein the state govt.pays the teachers their salaries. But in these aided schools and colleges run by managements huge bribes are paid (around 40 lacs and more) to land a job as a teacher. To be a govt. assistant professor and a govt higher secondary teacher (plus two level) one must clear Kerala PSC exams and interviews even if one has NET or SET. I know many with NET/JRF plus PhDs working in private colleges getting low salaries,so it isn't as black and white as it is made out to be!!

    It seems this madam is misguiding her followers, as she makes a living out of guiding UGC NET/JRF or Lectureship aspirants. A permanent job as TGT/PGT in a government school (central/state) pays more than what an ad-hoc lecturer would earn in most cases. That is why so many PhD candidates, working in private colleges try for PGT jobs.
