There are a ton of these frogs around my pool where I live in Alabama. I played this video accidentally without headphones and all of a sudden there were like 50 of them all croaking at the same time XD
So far out of all the cope gray tree frog calls recorded here on youtube. This one has to be the most clear. Almost alway get a call back with this one.
Yeah they’re cute frogs. They’re surprisingly easy to handle, even wild ones. They’ll happily sit on your hand, at least in my experience. Every wild one I’ve met was fairly friendly.
A couple of months ago, I got 2 little gray tree frogs. These shy little frogs were starting to sing at random intervals, but not very often. With the hope of encouraging more singing, I started playing gray tree frog sounds to see if they'd respond. After sifting through quite a few different gray tree frog sound videos, I had nearly given up hope. However, when my little frogs heard this video, they started singing in response! I'm so happy to hear them sing! Thank you so much for posting this video!
Thank you for helping me to identify these beautiful frogs. I just found about a thousand tadpoles at different stages and the frogs guarding the area. I didn’t know what type but this sounds exactly and looks very similar to what I found tonight. Thank you.
Hmm I live in Rhode Island and last summer opened my door to find one or more gray tree frogs stuck to my glass storm door, was super cool. These guys hung around my yard all over the place. I don’t know if they were cope’s or regular gray tree frogs but they were super cool either way!
They're basically impossible to tell apart without the call. In southern Maryland we allegedly have both, but I've only ever heard Cope's. Either way, they're pretty rad.
It took me years to figure this frog sound. I have a lot of these annoying rascals next to my grandparents pool. They do this every freakin night!🤦🏻♂️
Omg these are the freaking frogs that be in my backyard they no so loud late at night and imagine hearing this late at night with no light source around creepy bro😂😂😂
Specifically search for the COPE’S grey tree frog. The grey tree frog is not the same animal. Cope’s grey, also known as the southern grey tree frog, has this high pitched call. The typical grey tree frog has the lower pitched call.

That's funny. They always go wild here on the Fourth of July because they think the fireworks are a thunderstorm bringing rain.
In daylight or night?
Night
The copes gray treefrogs I raised from wild tadpoles to adults call when I play this as well

Thank you!
I just found out mine died, I cried hard for my little guy...I'll miss him. I'm listening to this because it's nostalgic to me...

Thank you, I was able to ID the screamer next to my bedroom window
This is exactly why I'm here 😂
Same!
Happy to help
Just built a small pond last year and these guys are coming around to hang this year.
Thanks for helping me identify!

Oh so they do sound different than regular gray tree frogs! It sounds faster and a different pitch.
Cope's Gray is a different species. (Hyla chrysoscelis)
The Gray Tree Frogs have a more sputtery, lower-pitched, and shorter call compared to the Cope’s
Copes gray tree frog. It's one of the loudest frogs in the continental U.S next to spring peepers.

Wow, very cool! I'm glad to hear my video helped you.
I own 4 of them as pets and I play this to them sometimes
Do they call back?
Finally I found the one that sounds like the ones at my grandmas, everybody else on CZcams has the slower sounding species
I have one that come to my balcony sometimes and I pick it up to look at it and put it down
Tbh i have 2 in a tank with my gecko and i love them tbh
Does the gecko try to eat them?
I just hearing this rn it’s the first time they come out again

This sounds just like the ones that sing at night at my house 😱
I find these guys all the way up here in northwest indiana like 25 min south of chicago.. Wish I knew how they made it thru the winters..
They have the ability to produce a sort of anti feeze to protect their cells while they hibernate.
From around 21 ish to 25 there’s a popping in the back, that’s kind of rapidly repeating. What frog is that?
That's also a Cope's Gray Treefrog, but it's the sound they make in the water while swimming.
I can’t tell if we have those outside our house or if it’s just green tree frogs
It’s so hard to find this version of the call everybody else on CZcams has the slower sounding ones

You should film a video of the eastern gray tree frog call
How do you get rid of them? Have about 10 in the yard this summer
Don't get rid of them, they are an important part of our ecosystem!
God they just ring your ears i tried keeping some in my room and it's just not possible
They're really cool though
Bang upon a frog triple cussed crymmych take out water ditch
