EXAMPLE SLEEP SCHEDULE:
Wake Up - 8:00 AM
First Nap - 9:15 - 10:15 AM
Second Nap - 11:30 - 12:45 PM
Third Nap - 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
Fourth Nap - 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM
Fifth Nap: 7:15 PM - 7:45 PM
Bedtime Routine: 9:00 PM
Down for Sleep: 9:30 PM
I know this newborn schedule looks a bit overwhelming at first glance, but it's a lot simpler than it seems! As always, stay flexible and tweak as necessary so it works for your family :) the goal isn't strictness but to have a general idea of what to aim for!
For babies ages 0-6 weeks aim for 30-90 mins awake during each wake window. For 7 or 8 weeks, aim for 60-90 minutes. 5-6 hours per day of naps is common!

You make it look so easy! I literally just had my first meltdown with my 3 month old. He was overtired and inconsolable for 3 hours. I’m on day 2 of trying to get him onto a schedule and unfortunately he missed a nap because we were out of the house longer than expected :(

Just to let you know, the milk pump has a hole from where you can purr the milk without having to open it, it is right on the top of it, Is how I take my milk out without spilling

Did you ever struggle with either baby being big contact nappers? My daughter is the same age as Jude, and refuses to be put down for any nap during the day
Yes!! Jude only wanted to sleep when held for the first 6 weeks or so. We started by practicing having him nap independently for one nap a day (usually the morning nap since he was the most tired). And then worked up from there!

Do you feed both sides during night feed so he sleeps the rest of the night? Change him too?
Feed both sides and only change if it’s poop or super full!

Silly question but I'm confused why one would store breast milk. Doesn't your body continue to produce it daily? At what point/when would you use the stored milk?
Ideally yes but supply regulates at multiple points throughout the first year w/ your baby - and a lot of that regulation happens within the first 4 months! We primarily store up milk to make sure there’s back up in the case that I run into supply issues later on like I did with my my first baby! Can be used if I’m producing less in the future, if we need to wean for any reason, God forbid in the case of a tragedy and also if I just want a break so someone else can give a bottle haha

Have you heard of the breast feeding idea of offering dinner then dessert? Meaning, one breast is dinner and offering the other breast as dessert? Cara says baby will sometimes want lots of “dessert” and other days less
